Your Anger Is Making You Ill

The Metaphysical Connection Between Anger and Physical Illness.  Toxic Fluid

In the intricate connection between your mind, body, and spirit, emotions play a crucial role in influencing your physical health. Among these emotions, anger stands out as a particularly potent force. Various thought leaders and researchers, from Dr Masaru Emoto to Dr Gabor Maté, Evette Rose, and traditional Chinese medicine, offer compelling insights into how anger can manifest as physical illness.

Dr Masaru Emoto and the Power of Emotions

Dr Masaru Emoto’s groundbreaking work with water crystals provides a fascinating window into the impact of emotions on your physical world. Emoto conducted experiments where he exposed water to different words, music, and intentions, then froze the water to examine the resulting crystals. Water exposed to positive words like “love” and “gratitude” formed beautiful, symmetrical crystals, while water exposed to negative words like “hate” and “anger” formed distorted, chaotic structures.

Given that your body is composed of approximately 60% water, Emoto’s findings suggest that your emotions can directly influence your physical state. Anger, with its chaotic and destructive energy, can disrupt the harmony within your body, potentially leading to physical ailments. You can find his videos on YouTube if you’d like to learn more.

Dr Gabor Maté: The Body Says No

Dr Gabor Maté, a renowned physician and author, delves deeply into the connection between emotional stress and physical illness in his book “When the Body Says No.” Maté argues that repressed emotions, particularly anger, can lead to chronic stress, which in turn compromises your immune system and fosters disease. He notes that individuals who suppress their anger often develop autoimmune diseases, cancer, and other chronic conditions.

Maté’s work emphasises the importance of recognising and expressing your emotions healthily. By acknowledging and addressing your anger, you can prevent it from manifesting as physical illness.

Evette Rose and Metaphysical Anatomy

Evette Rose, in her work “Metaphysical Anatomy,” explores the emotional and psychological causes behind various physical ailments. Rose believes that unresolved emotional trauma, including anger, is stored in your body and can lead to disease. Each illness or physical symptom, according to Rose, correlates with a specific emotional issue.

For instance, liver issues are often linked to unresolved anger and frustration, as the liver is the organ traditionally associated with these emotions. By identifying and healing the underlying emotional causes, you can achieve profound physical healing.

Chinese Medicine: The Liver and Anger

Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) offers a holistic perspective on the mind-body connection, emphasising the interplay between emotions and physical health. In TCM, the liver is seen as the organ most affected by anger. When anger is not expressed or resolved, it stagnates in your liver, leading to a range of physical symptoms such as headaches, high blood pressure, and digestive issues.

TCM practitioners use various methods, including acupuncture, herbal medicine, and qigong, to restore balance and help your body process and release stored anger. This approach aligns with the idea that addressing emotional imbalances is key to maintaining your physical health.

Bridging Science and Spirituality

The insights from these diverse fields—Dr Emoto’s water experiments, Dr Maté’s stress-illness connection, Evette Rose’s metaphysical anatomy, and traditional Chinese medicine—converge to paint a holistic picture of how anger can impact your physical health. By recognising and addressing your anger, you can foster harmony within your body and promote overall well-being.

In your mind-body-spirit community, it is essential to cultivate practices that help you process and release anger. This might include mindfulness meditation, expressive arts, physical exercise, and therapeutic modalities like acupuncture or counselling. By integrating these practices, you honour the profound connection between your emotions and your physical health, paving the way for a more balanced and harmonious life.

My Experience

I work with people from all types of backgrounds, they have an array of different health issues ranging from depression to cancer, what they all have in common is that they are holding on to unresolved emotional hurts, many of which date back to childhood, but not always.

Imagine working for a boss who refuses to hear your ideas or worse, takes them & passes them off as their own? That would pee me off I can tell you! What do you do or who do you speak to in that scenario? Often the person doesn’t do anything, they just simmer on the injustice & their anger.

What about the child who finds out a parent has lied to them, even if it was well intentioned such as telling a child their parent wasn’t that poorly when in fact things are dire or even terminal. Maybe a parent tells the child that an absent parent is ‘working away’ which is a euphemism for them being in prison, or simply not being interested. Well intentioned behaviour can cause anger & hurt, when a child can’t express it they will bury it, however, their behaviour may change because it’s simmering in there still.

Unresolved anger can also turn into depression, especially when you feel powerless or have no idea how to deal with the root cause.

Conclusion

Anger, when left unaddressed, can be a destructive force, manifesting as physical illness and disrupting your inner harmony. However, by understanding and working with this powerful emotion through the wisdom of Dr Emoto, Dr Gabor Maté, Evette Rose, and traditional Chinese medicine, you can transform anger into a catalyst for healing and growth. Embrace the journey of emotional awareness and release, fostering a deeper connection between your mind, body, and spirit.

Resolution

There are various ways to resolve these feelings, dependant on time, money & inclination:

  • Journal about how you feel daily or weekly
  • Therapy; counselling, NLP, coaching, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) etc
  • Speaking with the person/people involved
  • Meditation
  • Retreats aimed at healing & self development
  • Practising forgiveness – all behaviour has positive intent even if we can’t see what that is so assume that whoever has done you wrong had positive intent, it just went awry (this includes forgiving yourself)

Just remember that all emotions need to be expressed, keeping them in will just lead to illness & health issues. On my Inner Child Workshop we use these techniques & more to release the trapped emotions from the past so that healing can take place.
