13.50 – FBC Manby Bowdler Handicap Chase – 2m
MUTUAL RESPECT opened his account in emphatic style at Uttoxeter in July, winning by more than 7 lengths, and while he wouldn’t be a standout type to follow-up, this is a weak race, he is the one to beat. METHUSALAR won off a 3Ib higher mark over hurdles though, so he is one to monitor on his chase debut for the Bowen’s.
Tips: MUTUAL RESPECT, METHUSALAR
14.25 – Paul Ferguson’s Jumpers To Follow Handicap Chase – 2m4f
MIX OF CLOVER has yet to add to his chase debut success but he wasn’t beaten far back this sphere at Stratford last-time-out when third and has made the frame over this trip at this course in the past. Being 10Ib below his last winning mark, he should go well. I’ll also add in COLLEGE OAK who is down to a career-low mark and is feared most.
Tips: MIX OF CLOVER, COLLEGE OAK
15.00 – Get Pulling With PJ Nicholls SsangYong Novices’ Handicap Hurdle – 2m4f
POLICE ACADEMY has looked a totally different proposition for this stable, winning both her starts, and she has a fine chance of completing the hat-trick with more to offer. The top-weight IZAYTE didn’t lack for stamina when a close-up third over C&D last time and a 2Ib rise for that defeat shouldn’t prevent another bold bid here.
Tips: POLICE ACADEMY, IZAYTE
15.30 – Royal Equestrian Bedding Mares’ Maiden Hurdle – 2m4f
MARVEL STAR shaped with lots of promise and encouragement on her hurdles debut last month when third and could make a successful stable debut with the step up in trip to suit. MAN AFTER MIDNIGHT has only modest form but it is interesting she makes the trip over here and is of some interest with the potential for better.
Tips: MARVEL STAR, MAN AFTER MIDNIGHT
16.05 – Anja Potze Fine Jewellery Worcester Handicap Hurdle – 2m7f
KARAVOMYLOS successfully justified favouritism over C&D three weeks ago and that form has been boosted with the second returning a next time out winner. He is clearly in the form of his life with a lot more to come and a 4Ib rise for last time seems manageable. MR TAMBOURINE MAN is 4Ib lower than when he scored in good style in May last year and must be respected.
Tips: KARAVOMYLOS, MR TAMBOURINE MAN
16.40 – Richard Newland Racings Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle – 2m
TEN TEN TWENTY has just the one win to his name in this sphere but that success did come over C&D and he has tumbled down the weights since. He should be able to make more of an impact now, while COASTAL SUN is 2Ib lower than when third at Stratford and she shaped reasonably well when midfield at Newton Abbot last time out. She is one to consider with her rider taking off 10Ib.
Tips: TEN TEN TWENTY, COASTAL SUN
