Wolverhampton Tips: Tommy worth twohoots in West Midlands
The all-weather action has been keeping the racing show on the road after the spate of recent cancellations and there’s an eight-race card on the Tapeta at Wolverhampton on Tuesday night.
The action gets underway with a six-furlong handicap at 17:00 and runs through until the final race at 20:30.
17:00 – Tommytwohoots @ 10/1
Tommytwohoots scored well in first-time visors over course and distance 22 days ago, and the five-year-old can strike again in the opening race on the card.
Shaun Harris’ charge chased down a strong pace last time out and the six-furlong handicap at 17:00 looks set to be run at a decent clip.
The first-time visor may have sparked Tommytwohoots on his previous visit to Dunstall Park, but the five-year-old is two from four over the track and trip and it may not all be about the addition of headgear.
Tommytwohoots is up five pounds today, but Amy Collier claims three and Harris’ runner looks set to go close.
19:30 – Waleyfa @ 11/2
Waleyfa has won and finished second on her last two visits to Wolverhampton and she can run well again returning to a happy hunting ground in the 19:30 mile handicap.
Alice Haynes’ runner was disappointing at Lingfield last time out, but she was poorly positioned in a slowly-run race and the five-year-old can be seen to better effect this evening.
The capable Tommie Jakes takes off seven pounds, putting Waleyfa on a very good mark, and the daughter of Awtaad can take advantage.
20:00 – Snooze Lane @ 8/1
Snooze Lane is a two-time course and distance winner, with those victories coming off marks of 60 and 63, and the four-year-old is capable of going well from a rating of 62, minus Gina Mangan’s three-pound claim.
Sarah Hollinshead’s charge is drawn in stall 10 this evening, which isn’t ideal, but Snooze Lane has often finished well from off the pace and dropping in may well suit the four-year-old.
Snooze Lane finished down the field last time out, but the son of Free Eagle had a torrid trip, being denied a clear run on multiple occasions and that performance can be easily dismissed.
