The women’s semi-finals take centre stage at Wimbledon on Thursday and after producing a shock in the quarters, Barbora Krejčíková is targeting a place in the final on Saturday. The Czech star is hoping to follow in her compatriot’s footsteps, after Markéta Vondroušová secured the title this time last year. If she does, she would become the fourth Czech women’s champion at SW19, joining Vondroušová, Petra Kvitová, and Jana Novotná.

Below you can find my Wimbledon Accumulator Tips for Thursday, July 11, focussing on these two semi-finals.

Wimbledon Acca Tips – Thursday, July 11

  • Jasmine Paolini to beat Donna Vekic 2-0
  • Elina Rybakina to beat Barbora Krejčíková 2-0

Double pays 3/1

Jasmine Paolini to beat Donna Vekic 2-0

Jasmine Paolini is making history at Wimbledon this year. She became the first Italian female player to make it to the last four at SW19 and she is proving a lot of doubters wrong. Don’t forget, she had never won a tour match on grass before this year’s Wimbledon and had three first-round exits to her name before the 2024 edition began.

This clash against Donna Vekic is an intriguing one, but I think Paolini will come out on top. I’ll admit to underestimating the Croatian during this summer’s tournament, but I think she will come unstuck here. She came from one set down to beat Lulu Sun in the last round, and continues to prove her doubters (me included) wrong.

Aside from dropping one set to the talented Madison Keys, Paolini hasn’t put a foot wrong so far. I’ve seen enough to be convinced that she will be the one who walks out on Centre Court for the final on Saturday, and she should be able to beat Vekic with relative ease. I think it’s been a fantastic run for the impressive underdog, but it ends here.

Elina Rybakina to beat Barbora Krejčíková 2-0

This one feels more straightforward. Elina Rybakina is my favourite to win the entire thing, having tasted the ultimate success at Wimbledon just two years ago. The Kazakh star lost to Ons Jabeur last year, but has now returned stronger than ever and ready to lift the second Grand Slam title of her career.

So far based on what we have seen, she should go all the way. She is playing the best tennis of the tournament, and has been forced to a final set just once in her five matches so far. Elina Svitolina looked likely to challenge her in the last round, but it was another straightforward win for this talented former champion.

Barbora Krejčíková deserves her flowers, having surprisingly beaten Jelena Ostapenko in the last round, but her bid to become the second Czech winner in two years looks likely to fall short here. The 2021 French Open champion may return another time to challenge for this title, and she is certainly a force to be reckoned with, but I believe this will be fairly easy pickings for Rybakina.
