A midweek six-pack of racing action makes up the quota across Britain and Ireland on Wednesday.

Action on the Flat comes from Thirsk, Musselburgh, Tipperary, Bath and Epsom, while there’s jumps fare from Worcester on a busy day.

Amongst our midweek fancies is a three-time Epsom winner taking a drop in class for his latest visit to the Surrey venue.

Tip 1

The Jim Boyle-trained MARLAY PARK (7/4) tends to reserve his best for Epsom. He’s got a career turf record that shows four wins in 26 starts, though that improves to 3-10 at this venue and an even more impressive 33 per-cent strike-rate over this trip around here.

He has improved with each of his runs this season, including when he finished third over C&D at the Derby meeting here last month.

That was in a Class 2 event off a 1lb higher mark and the Cable Bay gelding was beaten two-lengths at the line despite not making the best of exits from the starting stalls.

He’s now rated 1lb lower than for his most recent success over track and trip and with the ease in grade in his favour, Pat Cosgrave’s mount is taken to justify his inclusion on the Most Napped table via the Betfred Betfinder for Wednesday’s racing action.

Tip 2

A fillies’ handicap on the Tipperary card over 7½-furlongs in which LINGER FOR LONGER (9/1) is given a chance to build on a strong recent run at Limerick as she seeks to break her maiden tag.

In that contest three weeks ago, she was caught further back than ideal under a flag start and finished to excellent effect to be second behind Cnodian.

She is 3lb worse off with that re-opposing rival today but the Willie McCreary-trained mare has shown the form to be decent in going close again since at Leopardstown.

Linger For Longer has now been placed in three of her last four starts – at 5f-7f – and she should get her due rewards soon under James Ryan for trainer Augustine Leahy.

Tip 3

Last-time-out Bangor improver HASHEHADHISOATSYET (11/2) appears to hold credible claims of a first time win with that showing in mind.

The Oliver Greenall & Josh Guerriero-trained five-year-old was making his second start in a handicap and appeared to improve for the fitting of first-time cheekpieces (retained now) as he was beaten around four-lengths in finishing third of six runners off a fairly slow pace.

The extra distance here can be a positive and he’ll have Toby Wynne easing his burden by 3lb for this Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle that closes the card at Worcester on Wednesday evening.
