- Baltimore is a 4-point home favorite over the Commanders in week 2 of the NFL preseason
- John Harbaugh and the Ravens are looking for their 25th-consecutive preseason victory
- ESPN will air Monday’s game from FedEx Field in Landover, MD at 8:00pm ET
The Ravens failed to cover the 3.5-point spread in their 20-19 victory over Philadelphia last Saturday. However, they did extend one of the most ridiculous records in all of sports, winning their 24th-straight NFL preseason game.
Will John Harbaugh and company keep the streak alive against Washington on ESPN’s Monday Night Football? Before we check the odds, here’s where you can find the best Super Bowl betting tips and the top betting sites for NFL football in 2023.
Commanders vs Ravens
Spread | Total Points | |
Baltimore Ravens | -4.0 (-107) | Ov 38.5 (-110) |
Washington Commanders | +4.0 (-113) | Un 38.5 (-110) |
Baltimore vs Philadelphia
Baltimore is a 4-point road favorite over the Commanders on Monday night. It’s common for these two teams to meet up in August due to the cities’ close proximities to one another.
John Harbaugh’s club hasn’t lost in the preseason since 2015. A 31-13 defeat at the hands of Kirk Cousins and the Redskins. Since that game, the Ravens have beat Washington in five-straight preseason games with an average margin of victory of 15.8 points. That said, Ron Rivera’s club almost ended the streak last year, falling 17-15 in week 3 of the 2022 preseason. Ron Rivera is 21-21-1 against-the-spread in his preseason career. While his record doesn’t compare favorably to John Harbaugh’s 40-16 ATS mark, it’s better than most of his peers.

Rivera will likely want to get sophomore quarterback Sam Howell more reps in Eric Bieniemy’s new-look Washington offense. The Commanders also have one of the better backup QBs in the league in Jacoby Brissett. In comparison, the Ravens’ backup pivot Tyler Huntley suffered a hamstring injury in Saturday’s win over the Eagles. With Huntley unavailable, Baltimore will be forced to turn to Josh Johnson and Anthony Brown when Lamar Jackson exits the contest, assuming he plays at all.
While it’s borderline crazy to predict a Ravens loss this time of year, we like Washington to cover the four points and end the Ravens’ 24-game preseason win streak.
Chargers vs Saints
Spread | Total Points | |
New Orleans Saints | -3.0 (-120) | Ov 37.5 (-110) |
Los Angeles Chargers | +3.0 (+100) | Un 37.5 (-110) |
Los Angeles vs New Orleans
New Orleans is a 3-point road favorite on Sunday night versus the Chargers. Derek Carr looked sharp in his Saints debut on Sunday, connecting on 6-of-8 passes for 70 yards and a touchdown. Jameis Winston also passed for 92 yards and a score in the 26-24 victory over Kansas City.
Meanwhile, the Chargers backups stomped the Rams backups 34-17 on Saturday night. The win improved Brandon Staley’s preseason record to 2-5. The Saints topped Los Angeles 27-10 in the 2022 preseason.

It will be interesting to see if Justin Herbert sees any warm-up action. While you would think the Chargers would want to keep their star QB healthy after a rib injury hindered his play in 2022, Brandon Staley is the same coach who played his starters in a meaningless regular-season finale last year. We’ll take the Saints -3.
