UFC Fight Night returns to the Apex in Las Vegas for a fun night of matchups. Bryce Mitchell will be out to overcome a recent run of setbacks when he squares off against a resurgent Dan Ige. Top 15-ranked women’s strawweights Marina Rodriguez and Michelle Waterson-Gomez will resume their rivalry, and the highly touted Bryan Battle will look to unleash against AJ Fletcher. Bryce Mitchell (15-2-0) last fought in December 2022, when he was finished by red-hot prospect Ilia Topuria after an interrupted training camp and draining weight loss. That loss broke a winning run of 15 straight bouts. Mitchell has the potential to scale the ranks at 145 pounds, so expect him to bounce back hard with a bold showing.
Dan Ige (17-6-0) has recaptured winning form in recent months with a pair of victories that may have saved his UFC contract following three straight decision losses. Ige fights best on the front foot and can appear slow and ineffective when being backed up by an aggressive opponent. He can throw a knockout punch and would be best suited working from long range and avoiding the takedowns of Mitchell, who is a superior wrestler and grappler.

Marina Rodriguez (16-3-2) has dropped her last two bouts after tiring in the second and third rounds. She suffered a heavy knockout at the hands of recent contender Amanda Lemos in November 2022 before losing a closer battle to Virna Jandiroba in May. Rodriguez won this matchup via decision back in May 2021, which should bolster her self-belief in this rematch after some recent adversity.
After showing early promise, Michelle Waterson-Gomez (18-11-0) has slumped to 1-5 since 2019 with two of the losses coming via split decision. Attempting to do just enough to earn the nod from the judges is a dangerous game, so the 37-year-old will need to increase her output to ensure another competitive effort does not go against her. Her karate style can be reactive, and Waterson-Gomez will need to execute a smarter gameplan if she hopes to emerge with a win over an old foe.

Bryan Battle (10-2-0) scored a brief and violent KO at his last appearance, ending the fight with Gabriel Green at the 15-second mark of the opening round. Both men appeared content to throw down, and after wearing some early damage, Battle fired back with a devastating right hand that closed the show. The 28-year-old will enjoy a huge 10-inch reach advantage here and would be advised to avoid the chaos of his last win and work methodically behind long-range strikes before pressing for the knockout.
AJ Fletcher (10-2-0) has fought thrice at UFC level with one win and two losses to show for his efforts. The win was a tidy submission stoppage over Themba Gorimbo, and both defeats were decided on the scorecard. Suffering the height and reach disadvantage, Fletcher will be looking for takedown opportunities in a bid to thwart his powerful opponent.

Ricardo Ramos (16-4-0) is 2-2 for his last four trips to the cage and needs to tighten up slightly to arrest his win-loss record. His last bout ended in an impressive spinning elbow KO in the opening round, displaying the explosive power the Brazilian possesses. Ramos is a proven finisher with four knockouts and seven submissions to his credit, and this looks like a favourable matchup for the 28-year-old.
Charles Jourdain (14-6-1) has entrusted the judges to steer his recent career with his last three fights being decided via the scorecards. Two of those decisions have gone against the Canadian, who does boast eight career wins via knockout. With an aggressive opponent standing opposite, the 27-year-old will need to bite down on his mouthguard and display the powerful striking that was evident in his early professional contests.
