A disappointing 1-1 draw with lowly Aris Limassol has left Rangers with plenty to do if they’re to qualify for the last 16 of the Europa League.
A win at Real Betis and they’re through but anything else and the picture become a little cloudier. Currently in second place they’re one point ahead of Sparta Prague, against whom they’ve the better head-to-head. As long as they equal or better the Czech side’s result in Cyprus the Gers will go through.
The bad news for Rangers is that Real Betis are a real tough nut to crack at home where they remain unbeaten this season. Add in the fact that Phillipe Clement is short of personnel with Cantwell, Jack and Danilo all missing and it looks like an uphill task for the SPFL side. Betis at 4/5 can’t be ignored.
Top place is at stake for West Ham in Group A. A draw or a win will see the Hammers finish at the summit and avoid the play-off round against a Champions League drop-out.
A 5-0 thumping at Fulham was unexpected and brought to an end a 6-game unbeaten run. David Moyes will be looking for a reaction from his said and they can bounce back against Freiburg tonight at 5/6.
Liverpool have already secured top spot in Group E so expect Jurgen Klopp to ring the changes against Union Saint-Gilloise.
The Belgians still have a slim chance of qualifying from the group so will be well motivated to go for the win. They’re top of their domestic table and with Sarah, Van Dijk, Alexander-Arnold and Alisson all likely to be rested they’re a bit of value tow score two or more at 5/6.
Aberdeen will have at least one eye on Sunday’s Viaplay cup final ahead of tonight’s clash with Eintracht Frankfurt. The Dons are already out of the Conference league while the Germans are already guaranteed to finish second in Group G.
Dead rubbers are always tricky to bet on but Frankfurt’s 5-1 win over Bayern Munich at the weekend suggests that even their second string might be too good for a pre-occupied Aberdeen. 4/7 isn’t the worst price for the Bundesliga side, nor is the same price on them scoring two or more.
Fenerbahce need a win to qualify from Group H. They start the evening in third but could top the table if results go their way. They’re just 1/12 to win but it could be a night when the Turkish side turn on the style against bottom side Spartak Trnava who have only managed to pick up one point so far.
Fener are flying high at the top of the Turkish Super Lig and are averaging 2.6 goals per game. They’ve also scored 5-3-5-3-3 in their five home European games this season. In a match they simply must win, double them up to score 2+ with the Frankfurt win for 7/5 Double.
