The Acolyte Episode 7 Easter Eggs & Breakdown
This episode takes place on Brendok, 16 years ago.
Indara, Sol, and the others are taking samples and readings of the planet.
Around the campfire, Torbin says he’s tired of eating Nuna Leg. These are from Nunas aka Swamp Turkeys. They were known to live on the planet Naboo.
He wants to go home to Coruscant but Indara says they are on a mission. They’ve been there for 7 weeks looking for anyone who might live there.
100 years ago the planet was deemed lifeless due to a Hyperspace Disaster. This great disaster is described in The High Republic: Light of the Jedi novel.
Sol reveals they are looking for a Vergence, a concentration of Force Energy also called a Force Nexus, could create life.
The Jedi split up to cover more ground. Sol takes the speeder bike North.
Sol finds the Bunta Tree and young Mae and Osha. He follows them as they head back home. But Mother Koril finds them. We are watching the events of Episode 3 but through Sol’s POV.
He continues to follow them all the way back to their fortress. Climbing the walls he sneaks inside. He watches as Mother Aniseya teaches the girls how to use the energy. Interesting, she seems angry from his viewpoint but we know in the girls’ eyes she was kind.
Sol makes a noise and Mother Koril goes to investigate while Aniseya sends Osha and Mae to their room. He reunites with Indara and tells her about the witches. Torbin calls them Nightsisters. Indara dismisses that and thinks they should ask the Council what to do. Sol fears for the girls’ safety, he thinks the ceremony that night will harm them.
Indara, Kelnacca, Torbin, and Sol go back to the fortress. It used to be an old Mining Site.
Aniseya takes control of Torbin’s mind. She appears to him. He is the son of poor parents from the planet Bonadan. It was a strip-mined planet at the end of the Hydian Way first seen in Han Solo’s Revenge, a legends novel.
Sol tells Indara he feels a connection to Osha and that she is supposed to be his Padawan. Indara is against it because the girls are too old to join the Order.
Indara asks Mae about her marking. Mae tells her about Ascension and leading the Coven but she doesn’t know all the details.
She tells Torbin to run the girls’ blood samples. She has contacted the Council and is waiting for their response. She tells him to continue collecting samples from the planet with Sol and Kalnecca. The Council said no.
Their blood tests reveal their M Count is very high. Their symbionts are also exactly the same, even twins do not have the same symbionts. Only a vergence could take one mind and split it into two bodies. The twins were artificially created.
Torbin grabs a speeder, planning to take the girls. They are his ticket home.
Koril encourages Mae to get angry. Aniseya tells the other witches she wants to consider Osha’s feelings and let her go with the Jedi. The Witches don’t approve.
Sol and Torbin make their way inside to save the girls. The Witches go to confront the Jedi on Kuril’s orders.
Mae starts the fire by accident. She runs to find her mother. Sol kills Aniseya, thinking she was going to harm the girls. Koril and Sol fight while Torbin deflects the Witches weapons.
The Witches take control of Kelnecca’s mind. He attacks Sol and Torbin. Indara arrives in time to save their lives. She tells Sol to get the twins.
Sol tries to save them both, but he cannot. He chooses to let Mae “die” and save Osha.
Indara says they will tell the Council the truth– we burned down the witches fortress and everyone was lost. But she tells Sol not to go before the Council because it will take Osha’s dream away.
He lies to Osha.
