TTU Has Lost Six of Seven ATS
During their gruelling Big 12 schedule, the Red Raiders have done an admirable 8-6 straight-up, but their record against the number leaves a lot to be desired, especially of late. Just 11-15-1 ATS for the season, TTU has failed to cover six of its last seven games (while going 3-4 straight-up in that span).
Most recently, their offense was completely shutdown at UFC (75-61) on Saturday as two-point road underdogs. TTU entered that game ranked #23 in the AP Poll but fell out of the rankings after the loss.
Texas Tech wasn’t at full strength against the Knights. Chance McMillian (10.1 PPG, 3.6 RPG, 38.8 3P%) missed the game with a hip injury. Head coach Grant McCasland indicated that McMillian – and Warren Washington (9.9 PPG, 7.4 RPG) – would both be game-time decisions against the Longhorns.
Washington, the team’s main post presence, played just 13 minutes against UCF with zero points, two rebounds, and three fouls in his first game back from a foot injury.
Texas Continues to Struggle Away from Home
An ugly 86-67 loss at Kansas last time out dropped the Longhorns to just 3-5 straight-up in true road games. They were also uncompetitive at Houston in their previous road matchup, falling 82-61 to the current #1 team in the nation.
That said, Texas has managed three quality road victories on the season: 74-73 at Cincinnati as five-point underdogs, 75-60 at Oklahoma as 4.5-point underdogs, and 77-66 at TCU as 4.5-point underdogs.
Forward Dylan Disu (16.6 PPG, 4.9 RPG, 54.7 3P%) and Oral Roberts transfer guard Max Abmas (16.5 PPG, 4.3 APG) spearhead a Longhorn offense that sits 28th in the nation in efficiency thanks largely to a 36.8% clip from beyond the arc (38th). =

College basketball player props from DraftKings on Feb. 27.
With injury questions surrounding two key players for TTU, only two Red Raiders are on the board in the Texas vs Texas Tech player props: leading scorer Pop Isaacs (15.9 PPG) and point guard Joe Toussaint (12.2 PPG, 4.2 APG).
Isaacs and the Longhorns’ Disu have the highest point totals on the board at 16.5.
Texas vs Texas Tech Prediction
Texas Tech’s 14 home wins include victories over BYU, Kansas, and TCU, all top-30 teams at KenPom. If Washington is unable to play, the Red Raiders are going to be extremely thin in the front court. (Senior forward Devan Cambridge suffered a season-ending knee injury in December.) But they already ran over Texas (78-67 away) in January while losing the battle on the glass (38 rebounds to 27).
I expect a similar outcome tonight in Lubbock.
