Tennis Betting Tips: Collins will be chasing a big week

Tuesday’s selections were disappointing, with none landing at WTA Monastir, so my attention on Wednesday has shifted. I am looking at the matches at the WTA Guadalajara for my three selections.

There are some good players in action today, and a few of them feature in my tennis betting tips for the day.

Victoria Azarenka to beat Kamilla Rakhimova 2-1 @ 3/1

Victoria Azarenka has not been enjoying herself on the hard court swing in North America, largely down to some health concerns. She will want to build her confidence back up this week by winning some matches. This draw has given her a difficult opponent in Kamilla Rakhimova, who has been in good form of late.

Azarenka has lots of experience on her side which is hard to overlook, but the veteran will be pushed all the way by her Russian counterpart. Tennis is a fickle sport. You can be on a bad run and then suddenly move on to another event and then get reinvigorated.

I can see this happening with Azarenka on Wednesday. If she can play anywhere near her best, she should progress, but Rakhimova cannot be underestimated, so I have this match to go the distance.

Danielle Collins to beat Olivia Gadecki 2-0 @ 8/11

American Danielle Collins will be hoping for a fruitful week here as she looks to make up ground in the race for the WTA Finals. She has been given a favourable draw which could help her, but Olivia Gadecki can still cause her problems on Wednesday.

The young Australian is yet to drop a set here in three matches, including qualifying, so she will be feeling ready to take on the world number 11. She might have the advantage of being acclimatised to the altitude here but I don’t think that will be enough against a player who is performing very well on the circuit right now. I have Collins to win in straight sets here.

Caroline Garcia to beat Ena Shibahara 2-1 @ 3/1

Caroline Garcia has lost her last three matches, so she will be eager to put a winning streak together this week. The high altitude should aid her attacking style but after her recent run of losses, it might take a game or two for her to get back into a rhythm.

Ena Shibahara looked sharp in qualifying and she will be chasing her first win in the main draw at this event, having failed to do so last year. This will be a good test for her but I think Garcia’s experience should prevail here against an opponent who is still quite raw on the WTA tour.

Garcia will be a little rusty, so I have gone for her to win this match in three sets.
