The first of two Monday Night Football games in Week 4 kicks off at 7:30 pm ET as Miami (1-2) hosts Tennessee (0-3). No team has snatched defeat from the jaws of victory more than the Titans this season, and quarterback Will Levis is almost exclusively to blame.

Levis is the NFL’s lowest-graded starting quarterback now that Bryce Young has been benched, and online sportsbooks aren’t bullish he’ll turn things around anytime soon. They’ve pegged the Dolphins as favorites in the latest NFL odds, and bettors seem to agree.

Tennessee Titans vs Miami Dolphins Odds

Teams Spread Moneyline Total
Tennessee Titans +2.5 (-108) +114 O 37 (-110)
Miami Dolphins -2.5 (-112) -135 U 37 (-110)

Miami is currently a 2.5-point favorite in a game with a total of 37. This spread had been hovering between -1 and -1.5 for most of the week, but was bet up a full point once the Dolphins officially named their starting QB (more on that later).

Levis May Not Last Much Longer

Back to Levis, and it’s safe to say he’s walking on thin ice. He single handedly gave Tennessee’s Week 1 game away versus Chicago, and he doubled down with a similar effort against the Jets in Week 2. Last week’s blowout loss to the Packers wasn’t entirely on his shoulders, but a pick-six, eight sacks and three turnovers didn’t help.

Levis has now started 11 NFL games, and the results aren’t pretty. He’s 3-8 overall, with 9 interceptions, and nine fumbles. The Kentucky product has been sacked 43 times, and ranks ahead of only Deshaun Watson in expected points added per dropback among starting QB’s since 2022.

If there’s any reason to be optimistic on Levis in this matchup, it’s that he’s succeeded in Miami in the past. His lone 300-yard passing game came here last year, when he led the Titans to a shocking come from behind victory as 13.5-point ‘dogs.

Levis has looked nothing like the QB that orchestrated that upset this year, and new head coach Brian Callahan’s patience is wearing thin. He’s been very critical of Levis in the media, and with Mason Rudolph waiting in the wings, it may not be long before Callahan makes a switch.

Huntley Is Next Man Up

The Dolphins meanwhile, have their own quarterback issues. Tua Tagovailoa remains out with a concussion, and Skylar Thompson is now down with a rib injury. Thompson got the call last week in Seattle, and it was tough to watch. He averaged just 5.6 yards over his 13 attempts, and was unable to push the ball down field. That neutered Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle’s ceiling, as the duo combined for only 67 yards in a lopsided defeat to the Seahawks.

Enter Tyler Huntley. The former Pro Bowl QB has nine career starts on his resume, throwing for 1,957 yards and 8 TD, while rushing for 503 yards and three scores. His dual-threat ability will keep the defense honest, and unlike Thompson, Huntley has the arm strength to throw deep.

Green Bay laid out the blue print to expose the Tennessee defense last week, and Mike McDaniel will likely call a similar scheme. The Packers ripped off 188 rushing yards, averaging 5.1 yards per attempt. They used their running backs and their QB’s legs to gash the Titans, and when the linebackers crept up, they peppered crossing routes behind them off play-action.

Titans vs Dolphins Prediction

With a skill group of Hill, Waddle and De’Von Achane, the Dolphins have more big play threats than anyone in the league. It’s what made them a legitimate preseason Super Bowl 59 odds contender, and bettors should have confidence Huntley can get Miami’s playmakers the ball and help turn their season around.

It also doesn’t hurt that Tennessee is dealing with some significant injuries. Stud defensive tackle Jeffrey Simmons is out, as is veteran corner Chidobe Awuzie. Shutdown corner L’Jarius Sneed is questionable with a hamstring injury, but even if he plays good luck keeping up with the Dolphins speedsters on one leg.

Will Levis Against the Spread

Starts ATS Record Favorite Underdog
11 3-8 1-2 2-6

Most importantly though, the reason to bet on Miami (or against the Titans) is the Levis factor. He’s a walking turnover machine, and has been abysmal against the spread. Levis has covered in only three of his 11 starts, and is 2-6 lifetime ATS as an underdog.
