SupplySide West 2024 Recap: Insights from Intelligent Labs’ Leadership

SupplySide West 2024 Recap: Insights from Intelligent Labs’ Leadership

  • By Admin

Our CEO, Rus Hughes, and COO, Claudia Armstead, had an exciting time representing Intelligent Labs at SupplySide West in Las Vegas from October 28 to 31! They spent four days diving into inspiring presentations, connecting with industry experts, and brainstorming big ideas for the future of health and wellness. Here’s what they brought back and how it’s guiding our next steps.

1. Women’s Health Takes Center Stage

Women’s health was a top priority at this year’s event. The industry is finally seeing a push for products that address women’s unique needs, from hormonal support to reproductive health.

With Claudia recently joining Women in Nutraceuticals (@winwomeninnutraceuticals), we’re thrilled to be part of this movement! WIN’s focus on empowering women aligns perfectly with our goals of fostering inclusivity and health innovations that make a difference.

2. Gen Z is Shaping the Supplement Landscape

Gen Z is emerging as a major demographic in the supplement world, with 53% of those aged 20-28 starting their supplement journey within the last two years. Their preferences reflect a demand for transparency, social responsibility, and products supporting mental and physical health.

3. Specialty Supplements, Vitamins, and Sports Nutrition on the Rise

This year’s event highlighted strong growth in several key categories: specialty supplements, vitamins, minerals, and sports nutrition. These areas reflect consumers’ broadening interest in specific health outcomes, whether for fitness performance, immune support, or general well-being.

At Intelligent Labs, we’re excited to build on these insights and offer innovative products that meet the specific health goals of our customers.

4. Biotics and Collagen Lead Growth

Gut health products, especially probiotics, prebiotics, synbiotics, and postbiotics, are rapidly gaining traction as people recognize the connection between the gut and overall wellness.

Collagen is another standout, celebrated for its role in skin health, joint support, and anti-aging. Rus and Claudia brought back plenty of ideas on how Intelligent Labs can expand in these areas, ensuring our probiotics and collagen supplements deliver tangible, science-based results!

5. Spotlight on Magnesium

Magnesium stole the spotlight in the mineral category, with its benefits for relaxation, sleep, and muscle function in high demand. Rus and Claudia noted a surge in interest in magnesium supplements, making it clear that consumers are prioritizing minerals that support both physical and mental wellness.

6. Gummies Are the New Go-To Format

Consumers increasingly prefer gummies as their supplement format of choice, followed by capsules and tablets. The appeal of gummies lies in their convenience and enjoyment factor, making it easy to stick with a daily routine.

Seeing the popularity of gummies firsthand, we’re excited to consider incorporating this format into some of our key products. This could bring in a little extra joy into the supplement experience without sacrificing quality.

7. Physical and Mental Optimization in Demand

The theme of “optimization” resonated throughout the event, with consumers looking for supplements that enhance both physical and mental performance. The demand for products that support cognitive function, stress resilience, and longevity is growing.

For Rus and Claudia, this trend aligns perfectly with our mission at Intelligent Labs: creating products that empower people to feel their best and pursue a life of long-term wellness.

8. AI and Machine Learning: Personalized Health’s Next Frontier

AI and machine learning were buzzing topics at the event, promising exciting opportunities for personalizing health recommendations and formulations. With AI-driven insights, supplement companies can better understand individual needs, leading to more targeted and effective products. We’re excited to explore how this technology might shape our future offerings!

Looking Ahead

Our team left SupplySide West 2024 inspired and filled with fresh ideas. As we look ahead, these insights are lighting the way for Intelligent Labs’ next chapter, where we continue to prioritize quality, stay connected to industry trends, and create supplements that meet our customers’ evolving needs.
