Stockman’s Ridge vineyard sitting at 800m above sea level and include these French varieties along with cooler climate heroes such as Pinots Gris and Noir, Sauvignon Blanc and Gruner Veltliner. This new release from Stockman’s Ridge, along with its sibling the Left Bank, celebrates the French region of Bordeaux. This Right Bank is a blend of Merlot (70%) and Cabernet Franc (30%) and is a nod to the ‘Right Bank’ region of St Emillion. Winemaker is the lauded Will Rikard-Bell.

Camphor and mixed berries: pastille, mulberry, blueberry. Violets and chalk. Some meaty beef stock umami, dark chocolate and baking spices. Tight and drawn, savoury and cool. Dark fruit and chocolate under tanned leather with dusty and ropey tannins. Some neat oak spice and a clip of fresh acidity.
