SPFL Tips: Bets Bets in Scotland this Weekend

HEARTS are Scotland’s form team with 11 wins and a draw in their last 12 games but the bookies still don’t give them a prayer at Ibrox this afternoon.

Rangers have the bit between their teeth as they hunt down the title and a win over the Jambos would see them move five points clear at the Premiership summit ahead of Celtic’s trip to Motherwell tomorrow.

They’ve still lost just once since Philippe Clement took over from Michael Beale in October so that’s why McBookie make them 2/7 favourites for this one.

Gers also eased past Hearts 3-1 in the League Cup semi-final, although the last two clashes in the Premiership were tighter affairs.

Steven Naismith’s men were actually leading going into the dying stages at Ibrox in October, only to conceded twice in a dramatic finale to lose 2-1.

The last meeting at Tynecastle was also close, with a single goal from Abdallah Sima settling the match, so the in-form Jambos certainly won’t have an inferiority complex.

Hearts won 2-0 at Parkhead on their last trip to Glasgow in December and if you fancy them for an Old Firm double, Coral offer you odds of 10/1.

Both teams to score looks a better shout as it has landed in two of the three meetings this season and that bet pays evens at Unibet.

Rangers won 11-2 on the corner count when Hearts last came calling so it could be worth backing Clement’s side at -4 in that handicap today (5/4, BetVictor).

There’s a massive game at the other end of the table as rock-bottom Livingston look to pull level on points with Ross County.

Just a few weeks ago the Lions looked as doomed as the Christians who were fed to their namesakes at the Colosseum in ancient Rome.

But David Martindale’s men have now found a bit of form, following up a Scottish Cup win over Partick by beating St Mirren 1-0 last week.

In contrast, County have lost four in a row since conceding a late leveller to Livi at the Tony Macaroni last month. Removing the Reverend IM Jolly from the dugout has yet to improve matters for the Staggies, with two defeats since Derek Adams left the building.

That makes me think Livingston could be worth a flutter at odds of 5/2 (SkyBet) but it’s probably safer backing a tight game.

The half-time draw pays 11/10 at SkyBet while McBookie price a one-goal winning margin for either side at 5/4.

We’ve only seen eight corners in each of the last two meetings so betting on under 10 corners might pay off at 6/5 with Bet365.

There’s an intriguing game at Rugby Park as Derek McInnes locks horns with Neil Warnock for the first time since the infamous Battle of Bramall Lane back in 2002.

A headbutt on McInnes by one of Warnock’s Sheffield United charges was part of the chaos which caused that game with West Brom to be abandoned because there weren’t enough players left on the pitch.

Over 4.5 cards in today’s clash between Aberdeen and Killie pays 5/6 at Unibet but I’m going for over 11 corners instead at 11/8 with Bet365.

Hibs drew 2-2 with the Dons last weekend at Pittodrie and going for goals looks the call again when Dundee come calling.

BTTS pays just 4/6 with McBookie for this one but combining that with over 2.5 goals boosts the odds to evens at William Hill.

There’s a battle of the Saints in Paisley and the Buddies are odds-on favourites with their opponents on a three-game losing run.

Although St Johnstone won 1-0 in the reverse fixture it ended 7-0 to St Mirren on the corner count so try backing Stephen Robinson’s men at -3 in that handicap (7/5, Unibet).

Celtic head to Motherwell tomorrow and look in poor shape on the evidence of last week’s  draw with Kilmarnock. For this one, I’m going for a penalty to be awarded (19/10, McBookie).

Super singles Rangers -4 corners (5/4, BetVictor)
HT draw in Dingwall (11/10, SkyBet)
Over 11 corners at Killie (11/8, Bet365)
St Mirren -3 corners (7/5, Unibet)
