This game will be played at Wintrust Arena at 12:00 PM ET on Wednesday, June 28, 2023.
Why Bet the Sky:
This game starts at noon Eastern time, which is an early start for both team. But it is an especially early start for the Sparks, as this is a 9:00 AM Pacific start. That will work significantly in the favor of the hosts.
Chicago has played a much tougher schedule so far this season than the Sparks, whose schedule has been full of home games against bad teams thus far. Look for Chicago to play better than their record would suggest, while the Sparks will look worse than their .500 record would indicate.
LA is missing several guards for this game, as Lexie Brown, Layshia Clarendon, and Nia Clouden are all out.

Los Angeles Sparks
The Los Angeles Sparks are in fifth place in the WNBA standings entering Wednesday’s action. They are coming off of a weekend sweep of the Dallas Wings, which included a double-double from Nneka Ogwumike in Sunday’s win. But the Sparks have benefited from a soft schedule, and could be in trouble in this early road start.
So far this season, the Sparks have played just three of their 14 games against teams with winning records, losing all three of those games. The Sparks have also played nine of their 14 games at home, as they are just 2-3 on the road on the year.
Chicago Sky
The Chicago Sky, meanwhile, have lost six straight games and have dropped to ninth place in the WNBA standings at 5-9. But they have played six of their last nine games against the top-four teams in the league (Aces, Liberty, Sun, Mystics), and they could look like an entirely different team on Wednesday against a beatable Sparks squad.
For the Sky, playing some defense will be key to any success they have on Wednesday. The Sky have allowed 80 or more points in four of their last five games, and 90 or more points in three of those contests. Against a Sparks team that has scored 65 or fewer points in two of their last three road games, the Sky have a great chance to step up on the defensive end of the floor here.
