The club football season is over but we can still get our fix in the form of international football. Here, we’ve previewed the Nations League semi final between Spain and Italy and have given you our best bets for the occasion.

De Grolsch Veste, Enschede, Netherlands
Spain (6/5) and Italy (11/5) have had similar fortunes over the last year or so, finishing top of their respective Nations League groups with 11 points apiece.
Likewise, both nations have won one and lost one of their Euro 2024 qualifiers and on neutral ground in the Netherlands, they should be fairly evenly matched.
Italians aren’t yet sure if Roberto Mancini is a genius or a flop after their hero or zero performances under his stewardship. Firstly, they won Euro 2020 and then failed to qualify for Qatar 2022. Another piece of silverware would help to convince the fans.
Spain pulled the plug on the Luis Enrique era, after their loss to Morocco in the last 16 and are in a bit of a transitional phase under Luis de la Fuente.
Team news:
Rodri is a doubt for the Spanish side, after his heroics for club side Manchester City at the weekend. If he is fit to play, he will likely start though. French-born Robin Le Normand will start at centre back, after his switch of national allegiance.
Federico Dimarco, Alessandro Bastoni, Francesco Acerbi and Nicolo Barella should all start here, despite their loss in the Champions League final.
Italy Draw no Bet – 5/4
Italy have named a really strong looking side here and have several Inter players that will be hurting from their Champions league loss and keen to gain some form of immediate redemption.
Spain changed manager after the World Cup and new boss Luis de la Fuente is still working on finding his best team and imprinting his style of play on the squad.
On neutral ground, the Italians look a big price to win outright but I’ve taken a little bit of insurance with the draw no bet option, that is still on the good side of evens.
I can’t see La Roja winning this one and if they do hold Italy to a draw, we get our stake back.
Mateo Retegui first goalscorer – 5/1
The Tigre striker is keeping Ciro Immobile out of the Italian starting line up right now and the Argentine-born striker has lived up to the hype since his call up by Roberto Mancini.
Retegui scored on his international debut against England and then again in his second match against Malta, becoming the first Italian to score in his first two matches since 1968.
Betfred are running their famed Double Delight/ Hat-trick Heaven Promotion on this match, meaning should the striker score first and then go on to score a second, you will be paid at double the odds (10/1). Should he score a 3rd, you would be paid at triple the odds (15/1).
