Scottish Tips: Best Bets at QoS, Hearts and Morton

Scottish Tips: Best Bets at QoS, Hearts and Morton

QUEEN OF THE SOUTH look far too big to win at Stirling Albion at 19/10.

The Dumfries side have been largely disappointing this season. A club of their size should really be in the Championship and they have no chance of catching Falkirk at the top of League One to go up.

But despite a poor campaign so far, they are only four points off the play-offs and there have been signs of improvement recently for Marvin Bartley’s side.

They showed their potential by holding Championship high-fliers Dundee United to a draw at Palmerston Park a few weeks ago and then beating them on penalties to knock them out of the Scottish Cup.

To follow that up by being hammered at Hamilton was typical of their season, but they’ve recovered to win their next two games at  Montrose in an impressive 4-1 win at Links Park and a defeat of struggling Edinburgh City.

Stirling lost six games in a row in all competitions before taking advantage of Edinburgh City’s problems by winning at Meadowbank and then being held to a draw by Annan Athletic last week.

And they look very uneasy favourites here.

It’s a card crammed full of odds-on shots and one of those, HEARTS, can get the job done at 20/21 at home to St Mirren.

The Jambos stunned Celtic last week in a terrific 2-0 win in Glasgow and can kick on against a Saints team who are poor travellers away from Paisley.

Both teams are locked together in points and it’s a major incentive to get the win which would put Hearts in pole position to get third spot.

Saints have lost their last five games away from home and failed to net in the last four. Admittedly, two of them were at Celtic and Rangers, but they have also lost at St Johnstone, Ross County and Dundee.

Hearts have captain and talisman Lawrence Shankland in great form and can get the three points in Gorgie.

MORTON can edge a win at Airdrie at 19/10.

The Diamonds have done well on their return to the second tier of Scottish football, but there are signs they are starting to dip now after three defeats in a row.

In the Championship, they’ve only won one league game since September when they triumphed in Greenock.

Morton will be out for revenge and have improved recently after four wins in a row, with three of them in the league.

RECOMMENDATIONS:
QUEEN OF THE SOUTH 19/10
HEARTS 20/21
MORTON 19/10
