Saskatoon Sexual Health is moving to a brand-new space! This new office, located in the heart of downtown Saskatoon, offers additional clinic space to meet the increasing demand for services. SSH is launching a campaign on October 1st, to raise $25,000 for the relocation and renovations.
“We are on track to see a record-breaking year in terms of clinical visits, including cervical cancer screenings, pregnancy options counselling, medical abortions, and STBBI testing and treatment,” said Candice Klein, Executive Director of Saskatoon Sexual Health. “We are also facing an increase in rent by $20,000, which, is not a sustainable increase for our operations. Thus, with the increase in service needs, and the financial obstacles of such a drastic rent increase, means that we need to move into a space that better serves the needs of both the community as well as the organization.”
The new building is located on the 3rd floor of the Midtown Professional Centre, with a fully accessible elevator. It is conveniently located, shared building with the Elizabeth Fry Society, a pharmacy, as well as Life Labs. This new space also has one additional clinical room, allowing for the organization to grow and better suit the needs during a time of stress in our larger provincial healthcare system.
This new space will:
- Increase clinic spaces available to expand opportunities for additional services and clinic times.
- Provide space for on-site meeting facilities.
- Expand opportunities for collaboration, coordination, and access to services with other community partners.
Unfortunately, the moving expenses will be significant, and we cannot do it on our own. Help us meet our fundraising goal of $25,000 to work towards a society where sexual and reproductive health and rights are celebrated and accessible to all.
Every dollar truly makes a difference, and we thank you for your support! It is our hope that our passion for sexual health is contagious. Click the link below to donate to our Canada Helps campaign! We will share more details closer to the date, regarding items that we are looking for, if you would like to support our move in other ways.
