Salisbury Tips: Redredrobin can bob along to victory

Salisbury Tips: Redredrobin can bob along to victory

Salisbury stages seven Sunday races to keep punters entertained and we have picked out three tips amongst the afternoon action from the Wiltshire track.

The going is set to be Good To Firm, Firm in places for the afternoon meeting, which is due to begin at 14:15.

Included on the card and featuring amongst our selections is a two-year-old colt in the six-strong British EBF Novice Stakes at 15:25, an in-form C&D winner in an eight-strong handicap that follows directly afterwards at 16:00, and then another in-form gelding set to line up in a four-runner handicap finale at 17:45.

15:25 – Labalada @ 5/1

The Byerley Stud Peter & Virginia Walwyn Memorial British EBF Novice Stakes, due off at 15:25, is the first race under our microscope at Salisbury and it’s a six-strong contest in which LABALADA can catch the eye in.

The Sioux Nation colt appears to have a solid pedigree and should be respected amongst this modest and small field. Foaled March 31, he is a £210,000 two-year-old and is expected to be among the key players in this competitive Novice Stakes.

16:00 – Redredrobin @ 10/3

Of the eight-strong field for the next race, REDREDROBIN has the most stand-out recent form, picking up an impressive two wins from four runs so far this year.

He’s also a C&D winner, triumphing at Salisbury as recently as May, and was last seen finishing second of 10 in a handicap at Chepstow just eight days ago to further underline his claims on Sunday.

The likes of Musical Mystery (4/1), who was second of 12 in a handicap at Doncaster 15 days ago, and The Cruising Lord (5/1), who came home third of seven after 14 months off in a handicap at Newbury 11 days ago, could also be in contention.

Horse Racing Odds

17:45 – Gallimimus @ 5/6

With just four horses lining up for the final contest at 17:45, this is a tricky race to predict, but GALLIMIMUS could well be the one to watch.

With two wins from three runs this year, the most recent of which came at Leicester in May, this Noel Fehily-owned three-year-old is expected to run well again amid only modest opposition.

Gallimimus was ninth of 14 in a handicap at Lingfield when last out 15 days ago, but he was very slowly away that day and left himself with far too much to do, so a better display is likely this weekend if there’s no repeat of an early error.
