It’s Saint Kitts and Nevis vs USA in round 2 of the CONCACAF Gold Cup on Wednesday, June 28, with kick-off in St. Louis’ CityPark at 9:30 pm ET.
This is the first time these two nations have ever faced each other in what is a David vs Goliath encounter. Both teams are still looking for their first win of the tournament after the USA only drew with Jamaica while Saint Kitts and Nevis lost to Trinidad and Tobago.
We preview our Saint Kitts and Nevis vs USA picks, look at the odds, and offer some analysis, team news, and predictions below.

Saint Kitts and Nevis vs USA Over/Under and Spread

Saint Kitts and Nevis vs USA Preview
The Sugar Boyz – as Saint Kitts and Nevis are known – will have been disappointed to lose 3-0 in their opener against Trinidad and Tobago, but for them to have reached the final stages of a CONCACAF tournament for the first is a massive achievement in itself for a tiny nation of fewer than 50,000 people.
But head coach Austin Huggins will still expect more from his men in this David vs Goliath clash and will not want them to suffer a big, confidence-sapping defeat, especially after they underperformed in their opener. Worth noting is that this team had been in some decent form and the T&T defeat was their worst result in two seasons.

Huge Challenge Awaits Huggins’ Men
But also worth remembering is that most of their fixtures tend to be against other Caribbean nations and they have not won against a team outside of their region since beating Belize 4-0 in the 2019 CONCACAF Nations League. This game against the USA marks a significant uplift in quality and promises to be a tough night for them.
The USA game will be the first time they have played a North American team since 2018 but they will take heart from the fact they were narrowly beaten 1-0 by Canada on that occasion. They have, however, never beaten a North American team, with their best result coming in a 2011 World Cup qualifier when they drew 0-0 with the Canadians.
New-Look USA On and Off the Pitch
This young USA team didn’t have it all its own way against Jamaica and were, in the end, grateful to come away with a draw. They needed a Brandon Vazquez equalizer on 88 minutes to rescue that point after Damion Lowe had given the visitors a surprise 13th-minute lead.
With BJ Callaghan currently holding the reins on a temporary basis – Gregg Berhalter resumes his head coach role after this tournament – this USMNT squad has an unfamiliar look with many new players being trialed in this competition and is nothing like the one that recently won the CONCACAF Nations League.

Great Gold Cup Record for USMNT
On the plus side, even though this is a new USA squad and a new team, they should have enough to comfortably beat their equally inexperienced visitors. They have a particularly strong record against teams from the Caribbean and have not lost to one from that region since losing 1-0 to Jamaica in a 2019 friendly.
They also have an excellent recent record in the Gold Cup and haven’t suffered defeat in this competition since the 2019 final when they were beaten 1-0 by Mexico.

Saint Kitts and Nevis vs USA Prediction
It takes a brave punter to bet on anything other than a USA win here given the gulf in class between these two nations, but Saint Kitts and Nevis will be resolute and well-organized, and it may not be the goal-fest most are expecting.
The way to go here is to bet on the number of goals and, for me, the better value is with a modest USMNT win
