Roarlabs Roar X is a range of modular disposable vapes that aims to provide a much more environmentally friendly option over your usual disposable vape.
Rather than market themselves as a vaping company, London-based Roarlabs describe themselves as a scientific lifestyle services company. That looks to combine innovative technology with an environmentally conscious approach to their products as well as inclusivity.
They don’t just focus on smoking prevention with their Roar X and nicotine salt e-liquid ranges, but also offer solutions to smokeless tobacco addiction too. Such as by offering a safer Paan alternative that is free from carcinogenic Betel Nut and nicotine pouches.
Roarlabs are passionate about tobacco cessation and happily signpost to local stop smoking services, which is a great value to see.
What Can We Expect From The Roarlabs Roar X Modular Vape range?
A new approach to a single-use disposable vape. So much so that these aren’t marketed by Roarlabs as a disposable, but rather as a modular vape.
Reason being is that sustainability is at the heart of the Roar X Modular Vape range, with a key aim being to reduce the environmental waste imprint from each product.
Food grade silicone is used along with recyclable cardboard tubing. So when one of these reaches the end of its lifespan it can be separated for recycling. Therefore the 400mAh battery can be properly disposed of – preferably into a suitable battery recycling point!
Carbon imprint is also reduced, with each Roar X modular vape having the carbon footprint measured. Producing 0.23kg of carbon when shipped by sea compared to 280g per packet of 20 cigarettes.
Twenty different flavours make up the Roar X range, with each Roar X containing 2ml of optimised best-in-class British made e-liquid.
In this review I’ll be looking at the ten Roarlabs Roar X flavours that are stocked through Vape Club – many thanks for sending this range in for review!

Packaging
For the record, I believe that claiming disposable vapes (or any type of vaping product) in brightly coloured packaging is deliberately marketed towards children is hysterical tabloid-media driven rubbish. But I do applaud Roarlabs for utilising an understated approach to their packaging.
Each Roar X modular vape comes in a dark-coloured box, which features the nicotine strength and flavour clearly printed on the front, along with a nicotine warning label.
A picture of the device is found on the side, along with a QR code that brings up the report on the carbon footprint of the product. Pretty cool!
Also found on the packaging is information about the product, how to use it, how to recycle the product and relevant warnings.
Inside the box you’ll find the Roarlabs Roar X modular vape itself inside vacuum sealed packaging, as well as an information leaflet.
Design and Build Quality
An aspect that the vaping industry can clearly do better on is the environmental impact caused by waste products and clearly this is a big focus here with the Roar X range.
A lot of other manufacturers should take note of Roarlabs commitment to sustainability!
The housing tube of the Roar X is constructed from recyclable cardboard, with food grade silicone used for the drip tip and the cap at the base.
Both the drip tip and the cap on the base are recyclable and there are no internal wires either. Reducing the waste footprint even further, with the battery making a direct contact with the small chip at the base of the pod.
Inside the housing is the 2ml pre-filled pod and the 400mAh battery.
Upon first use, you’ll need to remove the silicone cap at the base and flip the battery round to use it. And yes, the battery can be recycled at a suitable battery recycling point!
A word of warning – don’t carry the battery around loosely! If the positive and negative poles make contact with metal and form a circuit (such as if carried in your pocket with keys or loose change), the battery is liable to vent and quite possibly explode.
Ensure the battery is safely transported and disposed of after use.
Blue Sour Raspberry
They say
Plunge into a sour twist with Roar X’s Blue Sour Raspberry. A balance of tartness and sweetness comes alive with every draw, making this sweet, sharp, and sour flavour a unique moreish experience.
We say
Bang on to the description, this is a well-blended Blueberry and Sour Raspberry combo, with the aforementioned balance of tartness and sweetness.
Authentic tasting Blueberry blends very well with tart and Sour Raspberry. The blending is spot on, with both flavours shining through and identifiable. If this is the type of flavour you tend to opt for, you can’t go wrong with this one!
Peach Soda
They say
Transport yourself to a summery afternoon with Roar X’s Peach Soda. The bubbly and juicy essence of Peaches fused with the fizziness of Soda creates a truly refreshing vape sensation.
We say
Wow, I was blown away with the juiciness provided by the Peach flavouring with this one! It is a really punchy flavour that avoids being too overpowering!
The authentic tasting Peach flavour blends in well with a Soda undertone, that even has a hint of fizz to it. Another flavour that lives up to the flavour description provided by the manufacturer!
Pineapple Ice
They say
Feel the tropical chill with Roar X’s Pineapple Ice. Every puff is a zesty Pineapple twist, coupled with an icy exhale, creating a refreshing vape experience that utilises best-in-class British e-liquid.
We say
This is absolutely one of the best Pineapple flavours that I have tried!
Absolutely no compromise on flavour at all, this delivers an uncannily authentic tasting Pineapple flavour. Seriously, this is really bang on to the actual fruit even right down to the mouth feel and aftertaste!
There isn’t much in the way of an icy note to this, it’s more of a subtle hint. However I am happy to score this flavour highly on the basis of how good the Pineapple flavour is.
Delicious stuff!
Strawberry Cherry Raz
They say
Experience a berry explosion with Roar X’s Strawberry Cherry Raz. A tantalising mix of Strawberries, Cherries, and Raspberries guarantees a sweet, tangy, and rich flavour.
We say
These three flavours blend really well together and Roarlabs have got the mixing ratio spot on. All three of the flavours are identifiable and each one doesn’t overpower the other.
Strawberry is the most predominant flavour that I notice on the inhale. With a delicious mix of Raspberry and Cherry providing the sweet, tangy and rich undertones in the background.
A great choice if you are wanting a more complex and layered vape from the Roarlabs Roar X range!
Cherry
They say
Savour the bold and rich taste of Cherries with Roar X. A delightful burst of classic Cherry flavour that reminds you of orchard-fresh fruits.
We say
A straightforward Cherry flavour, but one that has been done really well and replicates the authentic taste of a Cherry with its rich and punchy notes.
Just the right amount of flavouring has been used here, providing a nice and smooth Cherry vape that is easy to just puff away on.
Watermelon Splash
They say
Dive into a splash of freshness with Roar X’s Watermelon Splash. The succulent taste of Watermelon delivers a wave of summery delight.
We say
Oooh, a Watermelon vape that I can just about tolerate!
Reason being is that it isn’t over-flavoured and is an authentic tasting Watermelon flavour, that doesn’t overwhelm my tastebuds.
You get the watery tone from the Watermelon flavour, that replicates the mouthfeel of the fruit itself.
Spearmint
They say
Recharge yourself with the cool, invigorating taste of Roar X’s Spearmint. It’s like a breeze of fresh mountain air with every puff, making you feel refreshed and awake.
We say
I love a good Spearmint flavour and this is a very good one!
It’s crisp and minty, much like what you would expect from chewing on an actual Spearmint. It provides a very refreshing cool mouthfeel that lingers on the palate.
Absolutely ideal to use as a palate cleanser whilst testing all of these flavours out!
Lemon Lime Soda
They say
Refresh your senses with Roar X’s Lemon Lime Soda. A tangy combo of zesty Lemon and Lime that zings your pallet.
We say
Yep, this one definitely hits the spot!
I’m very partial to a Lemon and Lime vape and this one does an excellent job for me! With authentic tasting Lemon and Lime in a well-balanced mix and an ever-so-subtle hint of fizzy Soda flavouring as an undertone.
Almost like having a sip of Sprite!
Blueberry
They say
Experience the genuine taste of the British Blueberry with Roar X. A burst of Blueberry goodness that speaks of summer days and juicy fruit blends.
We say
Much like the Cherry flavour, this is a pretty spot on representation of a Blueberry flavour and a straightforward Blueberry vape.
It’s packed with flavour, but not so much so that it is overwhelming or artificial tasting. It just does exactly what it says on the description and will very much please those that enjoy a good Blueberry flavour!
Juicy Grape
They say
Drench your senses in the velvety embrace of Roar X’s Juicy Grape. Each puff is a burst of Grape goodness, delivering a naturally sweet and tart balance.
We say
I felt that this was slightly let down by the Grape flavouring tasting a little on the artificial side, which is something I don’t particularly enjoy.
I did like the fact that it hadn’t been massively over-sweetened like some other Grape flavours that I have tried.
My wife, a big fan of Grape flavoured vapes, did really enjoy having a go on this one, so it is a case of “swings and roundabouts” there!
Puff Count
I find it refreshing that when browsing the Roarlabs website, I don’t see any outlandish claims around how many puffs each one of their disposables offers.
Nevertheless, I still counted the puffs I took using the Pineapple Ice flavour.
This managed a very respectable 582 puffs before reaching the end of its life! Much better than quite a few disposable vapes I have tried and definitely more mileage than a packet of 20 cigarettes!
Final Review Verdict
I fully applaud the environmentally conscious approach that Roarlabs have taken with this range of modular vapes.
With all the bad press that disposable vapes have received, it’s great to see a company out there making the effort to produce a single-use vaping product that has a significantly reduced waste footprint. And also doesn’t come in brightly coloured packaging too.
Roarlabs haven’t compromised on flavour either, with this range rivalling the top brands out there when it comes to flavours.
These genuinely offer excellent flavours by utilising an optimised version of their Roar nicotine salt range, which I felt were right up there with the best ranges of disposables that I have tried.
Are products like this the future for disposable vape users once legislation banning disposable vapes comes in over the next year?
I’m not sure, as at the time of writing we don’t yet know what the legislation will consist of aside from yet another draconian approach to tackle an issue, but I would like to think that products such as this will be the future.
Needless to say, as time has shown, prohibition doesn’t work and just creates a larger Grey/Black market. So I’m sure the legislation around disposable vapes with this current government will be littered with loopholes and not fit for purpose!
All in all, this is a fantastic range of delicious flavours, that I would heartily recommend to anyone looking to pick up a disposable.
