The Right Mortgage & Protection Network has revamped its Consumer Duty hub for member firms ahead of the launch of the new guidelines next week.
The group says the portal now contains a range of additional resources such as sales aids and pre-approved marketing templates, that can be personalised with an individual member firm’s branding and contact details.
Added materials include a welcome pack for clients, a protection and insurance pack, various promotional videos, annual review email templates and a range of social media posts.
It also contains a frequently asked questions checklist and a Consumer Duty poster for clients.
The hub is split into four key areas of the guidelines — products and services, price and value, consumer understanding, and consumer support.
The Financial Conduct Authority’s Consumer Duty rules come into effect on 31 July.
The regulator’s new guidance applies to all of the UK’s 60,000 regulated financial firms, including the mortgage industry’s roughly 100 lenders and 18,000 brokers and broker firms.
It says the wide-ranging guidance aims are to set out “higher and clearer standards of consumer protection across financial services”.
The Right Mortgage & Protection Network compliance director Ben Allen says: “We’re asking all members to ensure they continue to take Consumer Duty seriously, and to integrate these new requirements into their existing process, [which allows them] to evidence the changes they are making, and [see] how it helps them comply with the new rules.”
Allen adds that the group will “continue to support and collaborate with member firms” on these rules as they become established.
