Day 2 of the Dragon Egg Mystery Bounty welcomed 61 runners back on the felt, each guaranteed a minimum payout of KRW 1,360,000 (~USD 980). Zhang Lirui stood as the day’s chip leader but was nowhere to be seen after the initial hour of play. By the first break, runners who held bounty tokens fell in line with all eyes set on the KRW 20,000,000 (~USD 14,440) top bounty. Xu Jieming racked up the most at this point and claimed five, none of which were the golden prize. To his demise, Gu Xiaochun who was just right behind only had one ticket but was in for a lucky day as he opened the seven figure payout.

A couple levels later, Xu found himself on the greener side of things after being spared with AsQs on flop 9dQd6c against Huang Guanha’s Qh6h. The turn 9h gave Xu a better two pair to land the pot and snag the lead in the process. Xu however, came into the final table only second in the running with Leng Bin holding down the chip lead after eliminating Chen Feng and Xuan Yang in 10th and 11th place respectively.

With a number of short stacks around, it only took less than thirty minutes of play before the table drew down to six-handed. One by one fell, beginning with Yu Lei in 9th place finish, Weng Chien Chih in 8th after getting her AdAs cracked, and Yang Xudong in 7th after having lost a race. Running table captain Leng Bin, went on to deliver two more short stack eliminations – Huang Guanha in 6th and Xu Jieming in 5th, with Xu Guo cleaning out Sun Chang Liang in 4th place not long after.

Three handed play saw all stacks hover slightly above the 30 big blind mark, up until Chen Chuanshu slowly chipped away at his opponents to eventually send 3rd place finisher Xu Guo packing. Xu shoved his last 13 BB from the small blind with Qd7d and was called behind by Chen with Ad10h. The board landed a full house for Chen, leading him to start the heads up battle with a 2:1 advantage. This didn’t last long as the lead extended back and forth for another 40 minutes up until the final hand was tabled. Action began with an open from Leng, followed by a 20 BB all-in from his opponent. Leng made the call with KdQd and bagged the overall victory with Chen’s Jh8c headed for the muck as the board 9dAdQsKh4s ran on the felt.

In addition to the KRW 48,586,000 (~USD 35,080) top prize Leng collected, the Chinese runner also racked up the most number of bounties and claimed an additional KRW 13,100,000 (~USD 9,460) in prizes, to bring his total winnings to a sizable KRW 61,686,000 (~USD 44,540).
