With Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua back in the lineup, the Rams have gone from trade-deadline sellers to NFC West contenders. After upsetting the Vikings on Thursday Night Football, Los Angeles heads to Seattle for a crucial divisional game. Up and down all year, the Seahawks are coming off an ugly 31-10 loss to the Bills on their home field.

Seattle gets clobbered
Playing without DK Metcalf, the Seahawks failed to convert two first-half red-zone opportunities against the Bills and were boat-raced 31-10 in front of their home fans. Seattle committed 11 penalties for 82 yards and their pass rush was completely ineffective, generating pressure on just 19% of Josh Allen’s 36 drop backs.
Mike McDonald now finds himself in a tricky spot. The first-year head coach was essentially hired because Pete Carroll couldn’t stop Sean McVay and Kyle Shanahan’s offenses. If they lose their third-straight game to the Rams, Seahawks fans may start to wonder why Carroll was ever let go.

Rams back in business
Puka Nacua made seven grabs for 106 yards and Cooper Kupp added five receptions for 51 yards and a touchdown in a 30-20 win over Minnesota last Thursday. With his two top receiving threats back in the fold, Matthew Stafford passed for 279 yards, four TDs and an interception. Kyren Williams also added 97 yards on 23 carries in the upset victory.
Just one game behind the other three teams in the NFC West, the Rams suddenly look contenders to win their first division crown since 2021. Sean McVay has a 10-5 career record versus the Seahawks.
Seattle vs Los Angeles
Seahawks vs Rams is a pick’em and the over/under is set at 49 points. Missing Nacua and Kupp for the majority of the season, the Rams’ scoring offense (20.6 PPG) and rushing attack (101.3 YPG) both rank bottom-ten in the NFL. However, Seattle’s defense is allowing the fourth-most rushing yards per game (148.4).
On the other side of the ball, the Seahawks are No. 1 in passing yards (262.1 YPG) while averaging only 89.3 rushing yards per game (4th-worst in the NFL). On Monday, McDonald said he was “optimistic” DK Metcalf would return this week.

LA’s young pass rushers
Los Angeles has quickly rebuilt their defensive line following the retirement of future Hall of Famer Aaron Donald. With a 1.5-sack performance against the Vikings last week, Jared Verse is now a -160 favorite to win Defensive Rookie of the Year. Rams defensive tackle Kobie Turner finished second in voting for this award last year, and sophomore linebacker Byron Young already has three sacks this season.

With all the momentum behind Sean McVay’s team, it seems like all the money will be on LA this Sunday. However, this “sucker bet” is simply irresistible. Coming off a 10-day break, the well-rested Rams should have no problem carving up Seattle’s defense and winning outright on the road (-113). We also like the OVER 49.
