It could be a rough start to the season for the Los Angeles Rams, with the team learning that superstar wide receiver Cooper Kupp will miss some time due to his hamstring injury.
Even though Kupp tried to get some different opinions on his injured hamstring, the veteran wideout couldn’t get cleared to get back on the field for Week 1 on the road against the Seattle Seahawks.
According to Sarah Bishop of ESPN, the Rams have placed Kupp on injured reserve, meaning he’ll miss at least the first four games of the 2023 NFL season.
The Los Angeles Rams have placed wide receiver Cooper Kupp on injured reserve because of his lingering hamstring injury.
Kupp will miss at least four games while on injured reserve: trips to Seattle, Cincinnati and Indianapolis and home against the San Francisco 49ers.
Obviously, this is not ideal for the Rams, with the team already coming into the season with low expectations and star quarterback Matthew Stafford struggling to connect with young players on the team. The Rams will have to look elsewhere to get some consistent offense going, which does bode well for their chances of competing in the NFC West.

The division was already going to be a tall order for the struggling Rams, with the Seahawks on the rise and the San Francisco 49ers looking like the best team in the NFC. Not having Kupp in the mix means the team might be in a 0-4 hole to start the season, and that might be big enough a hole in which the team can’t get out of it to salvage 2023.
