Always a joy to take in Ponte Carlo, especially on what could well be a sunny, Sunday afternoon. Seven races, 3.45pm – 6.45pm. ITV cameras are present as it’s a ‘Sunday Series’ meeting, so terrific interest and competitive racing is guaranteed.
Stacks of top pros are making the journey, too – Tom Marquand, Will Buick and Rossa Ryan amongst them. Wish I was there? You bet.
As per, let’s see if we can find a couple to run well for us.
Selections;
3.45 Mauna Loa
Richard Fahey is Yorkshire training royalty, and he saddles a very promising 2-yr-old here.
Two encouraging efforts thus far over 5f, beaten narrowly, and steps up to 6f here. It looks sure to suit this son of Group-winning 6f cracker Dark Angel.
Not the greatest draw in box 7, but it’s not a huge field and Oisin Orr should have the opportunity to get him organised for a late challenge. Lovely little contest.
6.15 Tasever
Four places each-way, and that’s how I’m playing this one with consistent 3-yr-old Tasever.
Gets lumps of weight from some of the winners and ran really well here last time when second over this mile trip. He’s up slightly in class but it’s a lovely racing weight, he evidently goes well on this quirky track, and David Egan’s booked.
Have a brilliant afternoon, especially if you’re lucky enough to be going racing. Take care, and good luck.
