Police Officer Accused of Casino Heists Claims FBI Pressured Witnesses to ID Him

A police officer accused of robbing nearly $165,000 from casinos in Las Vegas claims that witnesses were pressured into identifying him as a suspect.

three robberies with a police department-issued firearm

Caleb Rogers is on trial for allegedly carrying out three robberies with a police department-issued firearm over the space of four months. Prosecutors have accused the 35-year-old of resorting to casino heists to alleviate gambling debts.

The defendant’s attorney believes the government’s evidence linking Rogers to two of the robberies is weak. Rogers has also accused the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department detectives and the FBI of pressuring two people into identifying him as a suspect in an attempt to close the case.

The first two robberies resulted in the theft of $85,000 from two off-Strip casinos. A robbery in February 2022 at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino yielded $79,000 before security guards at the property were able to detain the former police officer.

Detectives linked him to the other two robberies due to the similar clothing and his unique running gait caused by a leg problem. He was an active-duty police officer at the time of the robberies.
