The 2023 NASCAR Cup Series was off last week following Martin Truex Jr.’s win on June 11 at the Toyota/Save Mart 350. NASCAR is back this week for Sunday’s Ally 400 at the Nashville Superspeedway. The Ally 400 kicks off a stretch of 20 straight weekends that will feature a NASCAR race, culminating in the NASCAR Cup Series Championship at Phoenix Raceway on November 5.
This week marks the third time the Nashville Superspeedway has hosted a NASCAR Cup Series race. The 1.3-mile oval opened in 2001 and has hosted NASCAR CUP, NASCAR Xfinity Series, and NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck competitions since 2021. Kyle Larson won the Ally 400 in 2021, and Chase Elliott was the victor in 2022. Both Larson and Elliott, who drive for Hendrick Motorsports, are among the favorites to win the 2023 Ally 400.

2023 NASCAR Ally betting picks
Kyle Larson
The driver of the No. 5 car, Kyle Larson, has not “owned” the Ally 400, but if any NASCAR driver deserves to be looked at as the favorite to win the 2023 edition of Sunday’s NASCAR Cup race, it is the 30-year-old Larson. Larson held the lead at the 2021 Ally 400 for all but 36 laps. In 2022 he finished in fourth place in the race.
Larson has wins at the 2023 Toyota Owners 400 in Richmond and the 2023 NOCO 400 at Martinsville this year. He is coming off a fourth-place finish at the Enjoy Illinois 300 and an eighth-place finish at Sonoma.
Larson is 10th in points in the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series Standings with 440. In addition to his two wins, he has two poles and five top-five finishes this year.
Martin Truex Jr.
The driver of the No. 19 Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing, Martin Truex Jr. has finished in 22nd place in both previous runnings of the Ally 400. However, the 42-year-old did hold the lead for 82 laps in 2022, which can’t be ignored heading into 2023.
Truex has finished in the top five in each of his last three starts and is coming off a win in Sonoma. He is in the lead in points this season with 525, with two wins, one pole. and five top-five finishes.
William Byron
William Byron drives the No. 24 for Hendrick Motorsports. If he wins the 2023 Ally 400, it’ll be the third straight year the team captures the checkered flag at this NASCAR race. The 25-year-old could very well make that happen. Byron finished in third place at the Ally 400 in 2021, and he is having a good season on intermediate tracks in 2023. He’s also the No. 2 driver in the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series Standings with 512 points.
Byron has three wins in 2023, two poles, and seven top-five finishes. Before his 14th-place finish at Sonoma, Byron had a run of six straight races where he finished in the top eight.
