It’s a playoff rematch on Saturday, November 9th as the Vancouver Canucks host the Edmonton Oilers at Rogers Arena. Puck drop is scheduled for 10:00 pm EST, and the game will be televised on CBC’s Hockey Night in Canada.
The Canucks come into this contest riding a three-game winning streak, most recently sweeping their California road trip. The Oilers have lost two straight games, including a 4-2 defeat to the Golden Knights on Wednesday in Connor McDavid’s return from an ankle injury.
Edmonton is -115 road favorites on the moneyline, with Vancouver listed at -105. The total is set at 6.5 goals, with the Over juiced to -120 at most sportsbooks. The Oilers won last year’s playoff series 4-3 but Vancouver swept the regular season series.
Oilers vs Canucks Odds
Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
---|---|---|---|
Edmonton Oilers | -1.5 (+200) | -115 | Over 6.5 (+110) |
Vancouver Canucks | +1.5 (-250) | -105 | Under 6.5 (-130) |
The Canucks are home underdogs at -105 odds on Saturday night. This is in part because they will be without leading goal scorer Brock Boeser, who left Thursday’s 4-2 win over the Kings after taking a blindside hit to the head from Tanner Jeannot.

These rivals have yet to face off in the 2024-25 season. Both teams are hovering around .500, with the Oilers at 6-7-1 and the Canucks at 7-2-3. Vancouver won the season series 4-0 last year before Edmonton got playoff revenge.
Oilers Betting Outlook
The Oilers returned home from a three-game road trip and promptly lost 4-2 to the Golden Knights on Wednesday. This was despite EDM getting McDavid back in the lineup after he missed three games with an ankle injury. It was their second straight defeat following a 3-0 shutout loss in New Jersey.
Edmonton’s usually lethal offense is averaging just 2.36 goals per game, while their penalty-killing unit ranks last in the NHL at 59.5%. Reigning playoff MVP Connor McDavid was held off the scoresheet in his return game. The perennial Hart Trophy odds contender leads the Oilers in scoring with 16 points in 14 games.

Stuart Skinner will likely get the start in goal for Edmonton. The 25-year-old is 3-5-1 with a 3.28 GAA and .885 save percentage in nine starts. He’s 1-4 with a 4.04 GAA in five career games against Vancouver.
The Oilers will again be without winger Evander Kane, who remains sidelined after a serious wrist injury that will keep him out for 3-4 months. Forward Mattias Janmark is questionable with an undisclosed injury.
Vancouver Canucks Betting Outlook
Meanwhile, the Canucks are rolling with three straight wins to kick off November after a mediocre 4-2-3 October. Their California sweep was capped off by a 4-2 victory in Los Angeles on Thursday.
However, the win came at a cost, as leading goal scorer Brock Boeser left the game after taking a blindside hit to the head from Kings forward Tanner Jeannot. Boeser has six goals in 12 games, and the latest update is he will be out indefinitely.

Vancouver is already without starting goalie Thatcher Demko, who is out with a knee injury. Backup Kevin Lankinen has been superb in his absence, going 7-0-2 with a 2.08 GAA and .923 save percentage.
Norris Trophy winner Quinn Hughes continues to drive the Canucks’ offense from the blueline. He leads the team in points (14) and assists (11) while riding a three-game point streak. Hughes had a goal and assist in Thursday’s win over the Kings.
Oilers vs Canucks Prediction
This Pacific Division clash pits two teams trending in opposite directions. The Oilers are still trying to find their footing after last year’s long playoff run, while the Canucks are starting to hit their stride after an uneven start.
Boeser’s potential absence looms large for a Vancouver team already missing some key pieces. But the Canucks have been finding ways to win lately, thanks to balanced scoring and outstanding goaltending from Lankinen.
Edmonton’s offensive talent can’t be contained for long, especially against a leaky Vancouver defense allowing over 30 shots per game. However, the Oilers’ struggling penalty kill is a major concern against a potent Canucks power play clicking at 18%.
Ultimately, this game has all the makings of a high-scoring, back-and-forth affair. Neither team has been playing lockdown defense, so the Over 6 goals at -115 odds on bet365 is the best value bet. Bet365 also has an enticing Super Boost with McDavid and Hughes each to record a point at +120 (usually -140).
