The Ange Postecoglou era is over at Celtic, after the big Australian moved down south to join Tottenham Hotspur.
The club is in a far better place than it was before he joined it and is in a real position of strength for whoever is lucky enough to take up the reins.
Next Celtic Manager Odds
Enzo Maresca – 7/4
If you can’t get the best manager in world football, how about his number two?
Pep Guardiola’s assistant manager is the current favourite in the betting for the job at Parkhead but his sole managerial appointment so far ended in the sack.
14 games in charge of Parma, with a really strong experienced squad, ended in failure as Maresca was unable to secure a promotion spot.
The 43-year-old won the Premier League B title with City’s youngsters but big questions still remain about his ability at the top level.
Brendan Rodgers – 2/1
Could it be a return to Glasgow for Brendan Rodgers, after his first spell at Celtic Park between 2016-2019?
The 50-year-old was tremendously successful at Celtic, winning back-to-back trebles and constantly getting the better of rivals Rangers.
Since then, he had a mixed spell at Leicester City, playing some wonderful football but ultimately failing to secure Champions League football.
He then played a large role in their relegation from the Premier League, just seven years after they won the title, yet he will point to a chronic lack of investment.
This one looks a shrewd value bet, given the history and past success at the club.
Kjetil Knutsen – 5/1
Another vacant managerial role and of course, that means another shout out for Kjetil Knutsen.
The Norwegian shot to fame as the coach of Bodo/Glimt who have shone in Europe in recent years and has been linked to pretty much every high profile job in the continent since.
The 54-year-old will surely have to move at some point and may see this as an easy way to access British football and a potential move to the Premier League, should he be successful.
David Moyes – 8/1
David Moyes side West Ham play in the final of the Europa Conference League on Wednesday and the result of that could be huge in determining whether this has legs or not.
Win and there is no way the Hammers will sack a man who brought them their first silverware for 43 years.
Lose and on the back of a disappointing domestic campaign, he could well be shown the door, opening the route for a return back to north of the border.
Graham Potter – 10/1
Potter was the hot young thing following his move from Bright to Chelsea. Fast forward a few months and having failed miserably at Chelsea, he is looking for a new challenge.
I think this one is unlikely and I can see another Premier League club taking a chance on Potter.
John Kennedy – 10/1
Again this one looks unlikely as Ange’s former assistant has already expressed a wish to follow his ex boss to Tottenham.
Jesse Marsch – 12/1
The ex-Leeds boss has been a high profile target for a couple of clubs since leaving Elland Road but for one reason or another, the negotiations have fallen through.
Could the American finally land a plum role up at Celtic?
Scott Brown – 20/1
Ex-Celtic skipper and current Fleetwood boss has been honing his managerial skills in Lancashire and managed to get them to the 5th round of the FA Cup this season.
It looks unlikely that Celtic would be willing to take such a big chance on a manager with such a lack of experience but it worked for Rangers with Steven Gerrard, so who knows?
