Deion Sanders tried to tell us. After an unthinkable 45-42 upset of last season’s National Championship runner up (as +800 underdogs!), Colorado heads home to take on Matt Rhule and Nebraska. Everyone doubted Neon Deion, and in the end, the Buffaloes came through. One thing is certain, wherever Deion Sanders and Colorado go this year, the eyes of the college football world will follow. How could anyone pass up the opportunity to bet on Nebraska vs Colorado?
Matt Rhule’s debut at Nebraska was hardly as noteworthy, but no less exciting. After a hard-nosed Big Ten battle, the Cornhuskers would eventually fall to Minnesota on a last-second field goal.

Will Nebraska end Colorado’s Dynasty?
A one-week dynasty that is. Colorado has been the belle of the ball this week. National media has taken the bull by the horns and jumped all over the popularity of the Buffaloes.
But, Nebraska has D1 football players too. Although the Cornhuskers failed to come away with the victory against Minnesota, there was plenty to build on.
THAT’S A SACK 💪

After all, the Cornhuskers defense played well enough to hold Minnesota to just a field goal until the closing stages of the game. Don’t forget, Nebraska had a 10-3 lead with just four minutes left in the fourth quarter before everything fell apart.
Huskers quarterback Jeff Sims is no slouch himself. While he was picked three times against Minnesota, Sims’ running ability could cause major problems for Colorado. He finished with 117 yards on the ground, and Matt Rhule will certainly design a gameplan that plays to his quarterbacks’ strengths.
Can Colorado keep this up?
With more than 80 new players on the roster, the Buffaloes were expected to need time to gel. So much for that.
Deions’ Buffaloes looked like world beaters last Saturday. Quarterback Shadeur Sanders looked like a future first-round NFL draft pick. Deion himself declared two-war star Travis Hunter, who played an unbelievable 129 snaps, the “number one pick” in the NFL draft.
Sanders (the quarterback), led an explosive offensive attack against the Horned Frogs. Incredibly, the junior pivot broke Colorado’s single-game passing record with 510 yards and four touchdowns on the day. Four players recorded 100 receiving yards (another program first), and the Buffs pulled off the upset.

When it counted, Colorado’s defense did just enough to come away with the victory. The aforementioned Heisman trophy odds sleeper Travis Hunter came away with a crucial red-zone interception. While the Buffs managed to force a turnover on downs in the final minute to cement the victory.
That being said, the win over TCU was ultimately just one game. The Buffaloes now have the attention of every team in the country and face a long and arduous road ahead.
Nebraska vs Colorado Prediction
Be very careful about putting too much stock into week 1 observations.
Don’t forget, betting lines in the off-season favored Nebraska by double-digits in this contest. Although Colorado’s victory has buoyed their spirits, that feeling may not be enough to pull out a win against a hard-nosed Big Ten squad.
Ultimately, this line is a massive overreaction to Colorado’s victory over what may be a terrible TCU squad. The public was all over Colorado as heavy underdogs last week and won. Incredibly, there is now more action on the Nebraska vs Colorado spread than any NFL game this week. The books won’t be wrong two weeks in a row. Look for Nebraska to control the tempo and pull off the upset.
With the Cornhuskers likely to slow the pace, target the under on Colorado player’s props. Travis Hunter under 63.5 receiving yards is particularly enticing as he is unlikely to match last week’s gaudy snap numbers.
Nebraska vs Colorado Pick: Nebraska +3, Risk: 1 unit
