NBA Betting Tips: 6/1 treble for Thursday’s picks
After landing a 7/1 treble yesterday, we’re looking to follow that up with another winner here, as there’s plenty more NBA matches to enjoy on Thursday evening. We’ve picked out the best bets for the upcoming games, which sees the likes of the Golden State Warriors, Denver Nuggets and Memphis Grizzlies all in action.
NBA Betting Tips
- Mavericks @ Timberwolves – Timberwolves (-8.5) @ 5/6
- Grizzlies @ Nuggets – Grizzlies (+6.5) @ EVS
- Heat @ Warriors – Warriors (-2.5) @ 10/11
Treble pays 6/1
Mavericks @ Timberwolves – Timberwolves (-8.5) @ 5/6
Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks take on the Minnesota Timberwolves, who sit top of the Western Conference, on Thursday night.
Doncic returned from a hamstring injury on Christmas Day to drop 50 points on the Phoenix Suns in a 128-114 Mavericks victory, but Dallas fell to Cleveland on Wednesday night, thanks to 29 points from Caris LeVert.
The Minnesota Timberwolves also lost their last game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, but they’re enjoying a stellar season up until this point, sat top of the Western Conference standings with a record of 22-7. The Timberwolves are also seeking a sixth-straight home win when they welcome Dallas to Target Center on Thursday.
It’s worth noting that the Mavs are playing the second game of a back-to-back so there could be some heavy legs in their rotation. Last season, Dallas were just 3-10 on the second day of a back-to-back, including 2-10 on the road, so I’m taking Minnesota here.
Grizzlies @ Nuggets – Grizzlies (+6.5) @ EVS
The Denver Nuggets have won their past four games but will have to overcome the loss of Aaron Gordon to continue their streak here.
They take on a resurgent Memphis Grizzlies outfit, who have been on fire since they welcomed back Ja Morant from suspension. Morant has scored 30 or more points in three of the four games he has played, and Memphis come into this game on a four-game winning streak.
Meanwhile, Denver have done one better winning their past five outings, but as mentioned above, the loss of Gordon could be a significant factor in this game, especially on the defensive end.
It’s not like the Nuggets don’t have the firepower to compete – Nikola Jokic, the two-time league MVP, has scored 26 points or more for Denver in three of his last four games, but I think the hosts will struggle to slow down Memphis, especially with Gordon absent.
Heat @ Warriors – Warriors (-2.5) @ 10/11
One of the league’s best road teams faces one of league’ best home sides here, in what should be an enthralling matchup.
Miami are coming off an impressive 119-113 home win over the Philadelphia 76ers on Christmas Day, while the Warriors lost their Christmas Day showcase 120-114 to the Denver Nuggets on the road.
Golden State had put together a five-game winning streak before losing to the Nuggets, and four of those wins came in front of their own fans at Chase Center.
Jimmy Butler is without question Miami’s best player, and he’s questionable to play due to a calf strain, so if he misses out, that significantly hinders the Heat’s chances here, in my opinion.
Butler is one of the league’s best scorers but he also does great work on the defensive side of the basketball, so if he’s absent, I’m expecting Steph Curry to have a high-scoring game and lead the Warriors to the win.
