NAP of the Day: Victory Shout can silence rivals at Carlisle

NAP of the Day: Victory Shout can silence rivals at Carlisle

It’s a two-year-old son of the great Frankel that gets the NAP treatment on Thursday. The lucky thing…

I suspect Silent Move will see support for this novice event over a mile after his emphatic 5L success at Thirsk just over three weeks ago.

However, he’s penalised for that and the form has worked out horribly. Specifically, the runner-up was subsequently beaten over 11L and the third-placed horse was denied by nearly 10L in handicap company off a lowly mark of 66.

Form that does look strong is that boasted by Karl Burke’s VICTORY SHOUT.

The two-year-old son of Frankel left an underwhelming racecourse debut way behind when finishing fourth, beaten under a length, in a warm novice event at Haydock last month.

That form is well worth shouting about. The runner-up won next time out and the third’s previous effort was given a major boost when Aablan won the G3 Solario Stakes at Sandown last weekend.

I don’t see how Silent Move can give the selection 7lbs, frankly. In fact, I think his main rival is actually Kevin Ryan’s Apiarist, who deserves plenty of respect.

My preference is for Victory Shout though. He’s the one they all have to beat and he looks to possess as much, if not more scope than his four rivals.

Jockey Sam James is in great form with seven winners from his last 29 rides (24% strike rate) and he can guide another one over the line here.
