12.20 – G.C.Rickards Ltd Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle – 2m7f
GLANCE FROM CLOVER opened his account in March earlier this year, and despite running poorly when last seen, he should go well. REGAL RENAISSANCE appears to be the obvious angle to make the frame. Henry Daly’s charge is largely consistent and should be thereabouts. KIMBERLEY EVE has placed in her last couple of starts and should figure.
Tips: GLANCE FROM CLOVER, REGAL RENAISSANCE, KIMBERLEY EVE
12.50 – Marsh Commercial Novices’ Claiming Hurdle – 1m7f
Olly Murphy’s IDDERGEM should take the world of beating in a race that lacks strength in depth. He scored very easily at Stratford last month, and now fitted with first-time cheekpieces, the follow-up looks on the cards, given that most of his rivals have questions to answer. It is hard to see any of the remainder getting involved, with the exception of Laser Focus.
Tips: IDDERGEM
13.25 – Corrie Cup Handicap Chase – 3m1f
HIDDEN HEROICS was in the process of running a fairly decent race at Ascot last time before he fell at the second last. He looked set to finish third, so in the hope that he’s over that fall, he could go well. MY BOBBY DAZZLER beat a useful field on his chase debut, and although he wasn’t in the same form at Newbury, he cannot be dismissed. LASKALIN won this last year and is expected to make another bold bid.
Tips: HIDDEN HEROICS, MY BOBBY DAZZLER, LASKALIN
14.00 – T.Preece Timber Buildings Ltd Novices’ Handicap Chase – 2m4f
MILTIADES still remains a maiden after 12 starts, but his winless radio doesn’t do his form any justice, given that he’s now placed in all three starts over fences and should strip fitter from his Warwick comeback run last month. TIME TO BITE, who is also a maiden, has made the frame in all of his last six starts and is likely to be in the mix. It is only a matter of time before he gets his head in front.
Tips: MILTIADES, TIME TO BITE
14.35 – EK Mowers & Machinery Mares’ Handicap Hurdle – 1m7f
GALICE MACALO has been really solid in defeat over fences this season and was last seen running with credit to take fourth in a Listed Chase event at Exeter. She’s a huge player back over hurdles. GREYVAL won twice last season and shaped well on her return at Ascot in what was a much tougher race. She must go well from a 2Ib lower mark dropped in grade.
Tips: GALICE MACALO, GREYVAL
15.07 – Mad Men At Prostate Awareness Novices’ Handicap Chase – 1m7f
STEPPENWOLF made a successful handicap hurdle debut at Clonmel last year, and while he has failed to complete in three of his five starts over fences, he has shown enough to suggest he can win a race like this with a clear round. DR J T ECKLEBURG has taken well to chasing and remains well-treated based on his hurdles form, so he’s feared most.
Tips: STEPPENWOLF, DR J T ECKLEBURG
