Lucky 15 Tips: Forcing Bull headlines Monday’s picks

There’s plenty of racing action in store across Britain and Ireland as the new week gets underway on Monday. Afternoon cards are from Ayr on the Flat and Cartmel over jumps, while they race on the level at Ballinrobe, Beverley and Windsor later in the day.

We’ve picked out four horses to follow from across the cards on Monday as they form our Lucky 15 selection for the day’s racing.

Horse Racing Odds

14:30 Ayr – It’s All About You @ 11/8

The opener at Ayr is an apprentice handicap over 1m5f and it can go the way of the consistent IT’S ALL ABOUT YOU for trainer Jennie Candlish.

The gelded son of Highland Reel joined this trainer from Roger Charlton in the off-season and has posted figures of 2423 in four runs at 1m4f-2m this season.

Despite the relative consistency shown, the assessor has offered some relief and the four-year-old is now rated 4lb lower than his opening mark of the season, when he was second in a Class 4 Doncaster handicap.

Sam Feilden takes over for this apprentice contest and it should provide a winning opportunity.

This is an Extra Place race, therefore Betfred will be paying 3 places instead of 2 at 1/5 odds.

15:55 Cartmel – Forcing Bull @ 3/1

Soft going could be key for FORCING BULL in the Weatherbys Hamilton Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase at Cartmel.

Donald McCain’s charge was twice a soft-ground winner over hurdles at Sedgefield in 2023 and he made a successful chasing bow at Uttoxeter (2m4f, soft) earlier this month in the hands of former champion jockey Brian Hughes.

He made most of the running there and drew clear late on from Get Up Mush for Dan and Harry Skelton, a rival who had impressed in his own winning chase debut previously.

He left his rivals strung out in that contest and another bold effort in front could see him prove too strong on this first visit to Cartmel as he drops in trip.

18:30 Beverley – Mrs Trump @ SP

The Jaimie Kerr Memorial Handicap at Beverley could set up well for MRS TRUMP. Paul Midgley’s daughter of James Garfield has been in useful form this season, with two wins and two seconds from five starts.

The hold-up performer will be eager to get a good pace to aim at now and the likes of Toptime and Jack Of Clubs should help to provide it.

Mrs Trump was second last time at Nottingham in a contest from which the winner and fourth have won again since. Mark Winn knows her well and they look sure to go close again here.

19:50 Windsor – Seek And Destroy @ SP

Our final selection is SEEK AND DESTROY as Ralph Beckett’s Sea The Stars filly heads to Windsor in pursuit of a winning handicap bow.

The three-year-old showed a really willing attitude when taking out a course and distance maiden at the start of the month under Hector Crouch.

She was asked to battle alongside eventual second The King’s General for the final three furlongs and showed her mettle to get the upper hand late on, perhaps doing so with a bit in reserve. An opening mark of 79 looks very manageable.

This is an example of a Lucky 15. If you can improve upon my selections (of course you can), then go for it!
