Lucky 15 Tips: Big stables look to fire at the Curragh

Our Lucky 15 tips for Saturday July 20 come courtesy of Irish flat racing HQ, the Curragh. A cracking card awaits, and lots of the sport’s biggest names over the water are in action of course. First race is at 13:30.

13:30 – Currawood @ 6/5

14:00 – Rudi’s Apple @ 6/4

Represents Joseph O’Brien, and the even warmer Dylan Browne McMonagle. A No Nay Never two-year-old colt who is well up to winning this nursery even with topweight, which he’s earned courtesy of his highly-respectable three career starts to date, including in the Norfolk at the Royal meeting.

15:40 – Content @ 10/3

Aidan’s turn hopefully now, and a three-year-old daughter of the late great Galileo. It’s the G1 Irish Oaks, and she ran very well in the G1 Pretty Polly here three weeks ago behind Bluestocking.

That was a career-best, and perhaps she can really come into her own now stepping up to a mile-and-a-half. She’s been very highly-tried and deserves a bit of luck.

17:25 – Castanets @ 15/8

Joey O and Dylan Browne team up again with a once-raced Gleneagles filly, Castanets. Didn’t really get involved in that maiden on debut, but will know an awful lot more about the game now and a big run is expected.

Some key rivals are looking a little more exposed, and the anticipated improvement from that first effort can pay dividends.
