Werribee’s Wyndham Park is once again hosting LIT, a spectacular free after-dark experience, in 2024.
LIT was a massive hit in previous years and you can expect the event in 2024 to be bigger and better! In 2024 the Werribee light festival returns with a fresh new program of stunning installations to explore from Friday 8 March to Sunday 24 March 2024.
LIT Werribee
This free family-friendly event is located inside Wyndham Park in the heart of Werribee city centre.
Over fourteen spectacular nights, you can enjoy all-new lighting installations throughout Wyndham Park. The first announcements include:
ChronoHarp by Amigo & Amigo: An entirely new instrument of light and colour has
landed in the centre of Wyndham Park ready for you to create beautiful tunes.
Trumpet Flowers by Amigo & Amigo: Shrink down to size below the glowing trumpet
flowers and contribute to the musical melodies.
Birdsong by Skunk Control: Wander down the nature trail and look out for the
beautiful sculptural birds, who have gathered to form a chorus and protect local
species and soothe the community…but listen closely, do they have a warning for us?
Bloom by The Indirect Object: Relax amongst the gentle, soft pink inflatable gumnuts
and flowers.
Ursula Lassos The Moon by Studio Vertigo: From UK artists, an ethereal, swirling
glowing moon has been plucked from the sky and harnessed by a rope lasso.
Night Parrots by Chalk River Labs – Hypnotic, kaleidoscopic light washes over the
giant night parrots which were until recently thought to be extinct. And think you know
the park’s rocket ship? Well, you have never seen it like this before!
Cosmic Reverie by Teeny Fletcher – Werribee artist Teeny Fletcher takes us on a
journey from dusk to dawn in a beautiful, dreamy glowing light walk.
Nocturnal Neighbourhood by Christie Widarto – As night falls, an animated
nocturnal neighbourhood of animals comes out to play! Look out for endangered
species including the Eastern Barred Bandicoot, the Fat-tailed Dunnart and the
Barking Owl.
LIT Werribee
As well as hosting LIT, Wyndham Park boasts two impressive playgrounds, expansive parkland and views of the Werribee River, all just a hop-skip-jump from the buzzing multicultural eateries of Watton Street.
Make a night of it by enjoying dinner in Werribee City Centre – you’ll find restaurants, bars and
pubs, gelato, takeaway options and family-friendly dining are all just a short walk from Wyndham Park.
LIT Werribee 2024 dates
Following the Opening Weekend from Friday 8 March to Sunday 10 March, Wyndham LIT will be open Wednesday to Sunday until Sunday 24 March, 8pm – 11pm.
For the first time, an additional Sensory Friendly Night on Tuesday 12 March will provide an opportunity for visitors with sensory sensitivities and other needs to experience LIT in a more relaxed environment with reduced lighting and sound intensity.
The Werribee light show is an all-weather event so it will only be cancelled if weather conditions are deemed unsafe.
