Methodology TLDR:
- Our first tier list aimed at lower ELO, specifically Bronze up to high Plat/low Diamond. Our second tier list is for high ELO, aimed at Diamond 2 and above.
- Our experts curate these picks and are an indicator of the champion’s inherent strength when played at the highest level. For many of the user base, this information isn’t super relevant for their games but provides invaluable insight into the game itself.
Let’s say you’re debating between learning and climbing with Jax (A-tier | Simple) or Rengar (A-tier | Severe) – you’re going to want to go with Jax. Why? This is because Jax has a lower skill floor and would require less games to play at an A-Tier level in solo Queue. If you tried to pick up Rengar, you wouldn’t get the full value of A-tier until after about 15 matches of practice whereas with Jax, you would get that full 15 every time you play him.

Top – Ornn
- The game has slowed down since the anti-snowball changes and all the nerfs to the jungle which just helps scaling CC heavy tanks like Ornn out significantly.
- He can play to his strengths of setting up ganks, dishing out tons of CC, and just absorbing tons of damage, too!
Jungle – Zac
- He is one of the hardest junglers to lane against with his long range gap closer and huge amounts of CC, and he can punish lanes without summoners so easily.
- Zac offers tons of damage, CC, sustain AND durability, which are all things that help him thrive in this current game state
Mid – Naafiri
- Naafiri is still proving to be an incredible choice in the mid lane maintaining a seriously impressive win rate over recent weeks.
- With no nerfs on the way she’s going to continue to be a real threat in the meta and the sheer amount of damage she deals once she gets ahead is insanely hard to play against.
Bottom – Vayne
- Vayne has been running riot in the bot lane in recent weeks and this doesn’t seem to be changing anytime soon!
- She takes a bit of skill to play consistently but she’s in a great spot, so now is the best time to pick her back up again!
Support – Janna
- Janna is the perfect support to pick right now as she is a blessing to have alongside any of the top meta AD Carries.
- Janna offers insane utility, protection, peel and healing and all of these things come together to make her incredible effective in almost any draft you put her in.

Top – Camille
- Camille is still terrorizing top lanes in high elo and right now her stats are just even better than usual.
- She’s a super consistent pick to go for working well into all manner of matchups and can isolate and deal with squishies better than any other pick from the top lane.
Jungle – Ivern
- Ivern is easily one of the best champions in the entire game right now and after the jungle changes nerfed a lot of his peers.
- Ivern has unmatched utility from the jungle, he has an easy clear, and he can impact games so easily for such little risk and minimal effort.
Mid – Kassadin
- Kassadin has been terrorizing games ever since patch 13.20 and in high elo this is where he’s truly shining.
- He carries so hard once he comes online with the right items, and then once he hits level 16 it’s time for him to show why he’s so heavily contested!
Bottom – Ezreal
- Ezreal has been having an amazing season, with lots of other meta picks popping up and down he’s continued to keep himself in those top tiers throughout.
- Not only is he super safe and reliable as a pick in champion select, but his ability to carry with just 2 to 3 items is insane.
Support – Senna
- Senna has been a serious force recently across all ranks, and whether you play her as a support or even as a fasting AD Carry her scaling and ability to destroy teams from super far away in the late game is undeniable.
- Senna offers decent poke and sustain in lane, but it really is once she’s got a few items that you quickly understand just how broken she can be.
Disclaimer #1: If a champion isn’t on our LoL Tier List, it doesn’t necessarily mean that you can’t climb with them. You’ll just have to put in more effort to get similar results as our Optimal, Great, and Good choices for climbing.
Disclaimer #2: This list is meant to evaluate the champions that we believe are best for climbing Solo Queue. Although there can certainly be some overlap, we are NOT looking to name the champions that are the best in pro-play or organized, competitive 5-on-5. This is why champs that require a ton of team coordination such as Ryze, may not be included or ranked highly.
