League of Legends 14.21 Patch Notes Breakdown
Welcome to our patch notes breakdown for League of Legends Season 14!
Let’s break down all the new changes in LoL coming this week.
We recommend following along with the official 14.21 patch notes since we won’t be listing all the specific stat changes, but rather, focusing on the impact of the changes and the champions updated place in the current meta.

Buffs, Nerfs, and Changes
Please Note: It is important that you read the patch notes and the images in their entirety to ensure that you do not miss any information.
Aurelion Sol (nerf)
- His base health is reduced. He will be weaker vs both AD and AP champions.
- A’Sol’s E scaling is also nerfed.
Azir (buff)
- His base stats are buffed.
Brand (nerf)
- Brand’s base mana regen is nerfed.
- His Passive damage is reduced. This is going to negatively impact him in the mid, jungle and support role.
- Brand’s Q mana cost is increased.
Camille (nerf)
- Camille’s base health is reduced.
- Her W damage is changed, so her poke in lane will be reduced in both the top and support roles.
- Her E bonus damage is also increased.
- Finally, her ultimate damage is changed.
Corki (buff)
- His passive damage is increased.
- Corki’s W damage is increased.
- His Ultimate damage is increased.
Elise (nerf)
- Her base stats are changed.
Fiddlesticks (nerf)
- His base stats are nerfed.
Galio (nerf)
- Base stats are nerfed.
Gangplank (buff)
- His base stats are changed.
- E recharge time is reduced. He will be better in the top and mid roles.
Gwen (nerf)
- Gwen’s Passive scaling is changed.
- It will negatively impact her in both the jungle and the top lane.
Hwei (nerf)
- His QQ damage scaling has changed.
- His E cooldown is changed.
- Hwei is going to be negatively impacted by these changes and it will make him weaker in the mid and support roles.
Irelia (change)
- Her Q cooldown, cost, and damage are changed.
- Her Ultimate no longer reduces her Q cooldown.
Kai’Sa (nerf)
- Her Passive first hit damage is weaker early, but stronger late. However, the AP Scailing is down.
- Stack damage is a lot weaker, but the AP scaling is down.
- Maximum damage is also nerfed.
- In short, AP Kai’Sa will be a lot weaker (expect her to be a bit rubbish on ARAM), and this is going to negatively impact her ADC builds too.
Karthus (nerf)
- His Ultimate AP ratio is down. So he is going to be weaker in all 3 roles.
Kassadin (nerf)
- His Q and E AP scaling are both nerfed.
Kayle (buff)
- Her W cost is reduced.
Malphite (buff)
- His base health is increased.
Nasus (nerf)
- His Passive lifesteal is nerfed.
- Nasus’s Q damage is also nerfed at all ranks.
Nilah (buff)
- Her E>Q combo damage is instant.
- Her Q empowered remains empowered.
- Ultimate attack lock out is changed.
Qiyana (buff)
- Her base stats are improved.
- Her W scaling is changed. This will make her stronger in both the jungle and mid role.
Senna (nerf)
- Her base stats are down. She is going to be weaker in both the ADC and Support roles.
Sivir (buff)
- Her base stats are improved.
- Her Q damage is changed. She will be a better ADC with these buffs.
Talon (buff)
- The W return damage is changed.
Taric (nerf)
- Taric’s bonus armor is nerfed at all ranks.
Teemo (buff)
- Teemo’s W movement speed is changed. These will be benefit him, but honestly it is going to not make a big difference.
Viego (nerf)
- His base stats are nerfed.
Volibear (nerf)
- His W cooldown is changed.
Xayah (buff)
- Her W damage is buffed. So she will be slightly better in 1v1s and 2v2s.
Yone (nerf)
- His W damage is changed. He will be weaker in the top and mid roles.
Yorick (nerf)
- Passive damage is changed. The scaling has been reduced, which is technically a nerf even though the damage is increased.
Swain (rework)
- Base stats are changed.
- His Passive heal is adjusted.
- Q cost is changed and so is the damage.
- His W damage and slow are changed.
- For Swain’s E, the cooldown now scales, and the speed/ distance is adjusted too.
- Swain’s Ultimate can now be used up to 100 times. Its damage and heal is changed.
- I think his Ultimate change is unique, and I want to see it in action before I comment on it properly. But it reminds me a lot of pre-rework swain.
Item Changes
Sorcerer’s Shoes
- Magic pen is nerfed. It will not be as strong on AP champions.
Blade of the Ruined King
- Damage is changed.
Runes
Lethal Tempo
- LT is buffed for melee champions. It gives more extra attack speed per stack, resulting in more max attack speed.
