In recent months, we have seen an incredible amount of Las Vegas sports betting updates roll in, as the wagers have been flying in left and right. This spring in particular, people were rushing to get their NHL bets in, as the Las Vegas Golden Knights not only made a ton of noise during the regular season, but they ended up winning the Stanley Cup too. Because of that, the Las Vegas sportsbooks took a major hit in June due to the NHL.
According to multiple reports, the Las Vegas sportsbooks lost around $6.6 million in June alone from the hockey bets that were pouring in. With the Golden Knights playing so well, people were betting big on them to not only win games during the playoffs, but a lot of wagers went in on them in terms of Stanley Cup futures too. Because of this, it’s no surprise at all that local fans in Sin City cashed in on the team playing so well.
“The Knights were 20-1 at Circa Sports to win the Cup when the season started and 10-1 at the Westgate SuperBook when the playoffs started,” Todd Dewey of the Las Vegas Review-Journal wrote. “In three of their four wins over Florida, the Knights rewarded bettors by covering the popular -1½ puck line and going over the total, whipping the Panthers 9-3 in Game 5 to clinch the title at T-Mobile Arena.”
With the Golden Knights making history and winning the title in June, people are already looking forward to what they’ll be able to do next season as well. Vegas holds strong NHL betting odds to go back-to-back and people all over the city will be placing bets on them with passion as soon as the regular season arrives. Should the Golden Knights go on to win it all again, then you already know the sportsbooks will take another big hit at this time next year too.

NFL bets are already flying in hot in Las Vegas
Following the excitement from the NHL campaign, the NFL bets are already flying in hot in Las Vegas. With training camp opening for the Raiders earlier this month, there’s a lot of hype for this team now that Derek Carr is out of town and the offense will now turn to veteran quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. While Jimmy G has struggled to stay healthy in recent seasons, there’s no question that he has what it takes to post a strong year.
It’s of course going to help him with the fact that Davante Adams remains in Las Vegas and he’s one of the best wideouts in the game. While the Raiders don’t hold strong NFL betting odds to win the Super Bowl, that doesn’t mean that this organization won’t be one to watch from start to finish during the regular season. People are already getting their preseason bets in for the Raiders and other squads out there too.
With the Jets and Browns opening things up with the 2023 Hall of Fame Game to open up the preseason, it’ll mark the first official contest of the new year. Bets for that game have arrived as well – and the party is only getting started in terms of football bets. From now until early February, NFL wagers are going to be through the roof. The Raiders will hope to post plenty of upsets this fall and winter, with people betting on that to happen too.
While the Kansas City Chiefs hold the top NFL odds to win the title, other squads like the Bengals, Ravens, Cowboys, Eagles, Lions and others will hope to make a splash and push for the Lombardi Trophy too. With the Chiefs, Patrick Mahomes remains the best signal-caller in the NFL and the expectations are high for him entering the new campaign. When KC and the Raiders face off, you already know that plenty of bets will be recorded too.

Super Bowl bets could be historic this fall in Las Vegas
With all of that said, Super Bowl bets could be historic this fall in Las Vegas. Why, you ask? Because the big game in February will be hosted at Allegiant Stadium not too far from the downtown area. Every single year, Super Bowl betting numbers are downright head-turning and countless folks travel for Super Bowl weekend to Las Vegas.
Now with the game taking place there this year, the local businesses are going to be packed to the brim for the epic showdown. And with that said, an insane amount of wagers will be placed too. We won’t find out until January which two teams will be battling it out for the title.
However, regardless of who ends up going to battle for the glory, we know for sure that a ton of sports fans will be ready to put money down on the showdown. In the coming months, NFL bets will be electric and then things will only reach another level once the playoffs get here too. All in all, it will be a great football season for betting in Las Vegas.
