The Championship serves up a Boxing Day cracker as the division’s top two will go head-to-head under the lights at Portman Road (19:45).

Ipswich are looking to bounce back from a humbling 4-0 defeat to Leeds United, while the Foxes made light work of Rotherham last time out.

Ipswich vs Leicester Prediction

  • Over 2.5 goals @ 8/11
  • Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to score anytime @ 3/1

Team News

Lee Evans and Janoi Donacien remain unavailable due to injury for the hosts, but that apart, Kieran McKenna should have a fully fit squad to choose from.

As for the visitors, they’ll be without Jamie Vardy,  Kasey McAteer and Marc Albrighton, who all remain on the treatment table, however, Callum Doyle returned to full training and is back in contention for the Foxes.

Match Odds

Ipswich are 21/10 to bounce back from the heavy defeat against Leeds, while Leicester are 6/5 to strengthen their grip at the top of the table and the draw is 5/2.

Both teams to score is 8/13, while Patson Daka is favourite to score anytime at 9/5.

Over 2.5 goals @ 8/11

Portman Road is definitely the place to go if you want to see goals.

Nine of Ipswich’s ten games there have covered over 2.5 goals, with the exception of their first home game of the season, which finished 2-0.

The Tractor Boys have also only kept two clean sheets at home all season, and McKenna will want to see a response to the defeat to Leeds here. Leicester have scored in all but one away game this term, and they’re also the highest scorers in the league with 47.

Mix all that together, and it seems like a recipe for goals.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall to score anytime @ 3/1

The Leicester midfielder is enjoying a fine season, already scoring seven goals and registering nine assists.

His experience of playing in the Premier League looks to have paid dividends for the Foxes this campaign, as Dewsbury-Hall has been pivotal to the success that Leicester have had so far.

He’s a threat from open-play and set-pieces, and at 3/1, I think that offers plenty of value for an anytime scorer.
