Inter Milan vs Bologna Prediction: Holders look too strong
Inter Milan begin their defence of the Coppa Italia when they welcome Bologna to the San Siro on Wednesday night (19:45).,
The hosts are currently sat top of Serie A and are one of the eight teams making an appearance directly in the round of 16. The visitors, on the other hand, booked their place in the round of 16 with a 2-0 win over Hellas Verona in the previous round.

Team News
Denzel Dumfries and Stefan de Vrij are still sidelined by injury for the hosts, while a recurring Achilles problem rules out Colombian wing-back Juan Cuadrado, and Alexis Sanchez remains a doubt due to a muscle strain.
As for the visitors, Jesper Karlsson and Adama Soumaoro remain long-term absentees, but Riccardo Orsolini has returned to full training.
Match Odds
Inter are 4/9 to win in 90 minutes, while Bologna are 5/1 to upset the current Coppa Italia holders, and the draw can be backed at 3/1.
Over 2.5 goals is priced up at 8/11, while both teams to score is 5/6.
Inter to win and over 2.5 goals (90 mins) @ 6/5
Inter Milan enter this game in fine form, currently sat top of Serie A, as well as advancing through their Champions League group.
They’re currently on a 16-game unbeaten streak, and the Italian giants last tasted defeat against Sassuolo back in September.
Bologna are also on a decent run themselves, winning three of their last four, scoring at least two goals in all three of those victories, while over 2.5 goals has landed in four of Inter’s last five outings.
Inter have won each of their last eight Coppa Italia contests with Bologna, and even if the Rossoblu are genuine top-six contenders this season, I don’t think they have enough quality to overcome this test.
Lautaro Martinez to score anytime (90 mins) @ 9/10
The Argentinian international is enjoying a sensational campaign so far, netting 17 goals in 22 appearances across all competitions heading into this game.
This is a competition that Martinez seemingly enjoys competing in too, as he scored three goals in five appearances last season, with two of those goals coming in the final against Fiorentina.
The 26-year-old scored in Inter’s triumph over Lazio at the weekend, as well as in the victory against Udinese prior to that.
Bologna have shipped 12 goals in 16 games in Serie A, so Martinez will fancy his chances of getting on the scoresheet here.
