The final Sunday game for Week 8 might be the best one. We’re talking the Indianapolis Colts vs Minnesota Vikings here people. It doesn’t get a lot better, especially when we consider the fact that Joe Flacco is back under center for the Colts. We could be looking at a special event. Obviously, we’re betting this thing, but I think we have to do more than a straight wager. We need to pump it up a little bit. Maybe even a lot. Lucky for us, I went through every single possible wager we can make on this game. After all the mental simulations, I’ve narrowed the board down to three legs to combine in a +228 Colts vs Vikings same-game parlay. Just amazing stuff.

Joe Flacco Is Still Doing It

So last week we saw Anthony Richardson “tap out” which is all the Colts needed to see to replace him. I’m oversimplifying it but basically that’s what happened. Honestly, I’ve never seen a quarterback “tap out” before so I just wanted to say something about it.

Still, the Colts quarterback situation has been a mess for years since Andrew Luck retired so they are an easy mark for ridicule.

Here’s the thing, the guy throwing passes for the Colts this week, might be the greatest bet in the history of bets. In his last six starts, Joe Flacco has thrown for 300+ yards in five of them. The man just has a “who gives a shit” attitude when throwing the ball and it’s beautiful. He’s simply not afraid to make a mistake. Very similar to Jay Cutler at the end of his career. Again, it’s beautiful.

We will need the right opponent for full Flaco and lucky for us, we have one in the Minnesota Vikings. On the season, only four teams in the NFL have allowed more passing yards to quarterbacks than the Vikings. All of those teams have played more games than Minnesota. The haters are going to say it’s because Minnesota is so good against the run but whatever.

We just need him to throw for 225+ yards here, people. Who cares how he does it? Feels right.

Flacco Has Help With Josh Downs and Michael Pittman

If our quarterback is going to throw for 225+ yards, then his receivers are going to have to get some receiving yards. That’s just how the passing game in the NFL works. That’s actually how it works at all levels.

The thing I like most about the switch to Flacco is the fact that all of his receivers get a little boost from his presence.

So far this season, only two teams have given up more receiving yards to the wide receiver position than the Vikings so that’s where we should look for accomplices. The obvious two that stand out are Josh Downs and Michael Pittman. What’s perfect about the Colts is the fact that their target tree is more like a target branch. There just aren’t many guys getting looks. All we have to do is water down their standard lines and we’re all set. Feels right.

  • The SGP (+228): Joe Flacco 225+ Passing Yards (-154) + Josh Downs 50+ Receiving Yards (-250) + Michael Pittman 40+ Receiving Yards (-225)
  • Wager: 1 Unit to win 2.16 Units
  • 2024 SBD SNF SGP Results – 4-4 (+7.96 Units)
