India and England could hardly have had more contrasting Cricket World Cup campaigns, and now the pair meet with the hosts hoping to deepen the woes of the defending champions.
England have lost four of their five games so far in their title defence including defeats to Sri Lanka and Afghanistan.
Jos Buttler’s side have also suffered a nine-wicket loss to New Zealand and a 229 run defeat at the hands of South Africa.
By contrast India have won all five of their games at this tournament in dominant fashion and are now looking to move to the brink of a spot in the semi-finals.
India vs England Tips
Match Odds
India are the 4/9 favourites to win this match and maintain their perfect record in this year’s World Cup on home soil, while an England side lacking form and perhaps confidence are available at 17/10.

Team News
Hardik Pandya is expected to miss out once more for India with the ligament injury that he suffered against Bangladesh.
Otherwise the hosts may remain unchanged from the team that beat New Zealand last time out.
England opted for their experienced players in their loss against Sri Lanka, but with one eye on the future, they look likely to turn to youngsters Harry Brook and Gus Atkinson once more.
Rohit Sharma – India Top Run Scorer @ 13/5
All five of India’s victories at this year’s World Cup have followed the same pattern, with the hosts bowling first and keeping their opponents to an under-par total before their high-powered top order has chased it with ease.
Rohit Sharma has been a key part of that process, he has been in good form and looks set to flourish again at a ground he enjoys batting on.
The opener has the only ever T20I century at this stadium and has made knocks of 46, 48, 86 and 131 in his last four innings.
The captain can take advantage of an English bowling attack that may be low on confidence after struggling in their previous games in these conditions, which the Indian batting lineup will enjoy.
Gus Atkinson – England Top Wicket Taker @ 4/1
Bowling has been a real issue for England at this World Cup and their top wicket taker has been Reece Topley, who has missed time through injury.
One bright spark has been the performances of youngster Gus Atkinson, who took 2/60 against South Africa and looked far more effective than some of his more experienced teammates.
The 25-year-old impressed in The Hundred this summer and looks to have carried that form over into this World Cup.
With England looking to the future, expect Atkinson to start and he can make his case to be part of the future of this lineup. Take him to be the top England bowler.
