  • By Admin

Part of Howard Park’s Distinguished Sites range. Planted in 2008, the Leston Vineyard is located in the heart of Wilyabrup in the premier wine growing region Margaret River. Winemaking sees 18 months maturation in French oak (~25% new). Howard Park have just rolled to the 2022, but there’ll be plenty of this vintage still out there. Note, bottle image is of 2018 but naught else has changed.

A drop in the ABV from the 2019. Medium garnet with ruby rim. Squashed blackberry, chomped cigar, char, a touch of animal hide, brine, black cherry, creosote and hints of sweet oak. Bright/dark fruit, built with a creamy and brambly mid palate that has touches of roast capsicum, woody spice and tobacco. Good frame of spreading, drying, firm tannins for the long haul.
