Hellas Verona vs Juventus Prediction: Solid Juve can hold off hosts
Monday’s second helping of Serie A action sees Italian giants Juventus take on Hellas Verona at the latter’s Marcantonio Bentegodi Stadium on Monday evening (19:45 KO, live on TNT Sports 1).
I’ve previewed the tie, offering the latest odds, team news and a couple of Hellas Verona vs Juventus predictions.
Hellas Verona vs Juventus Predictions
Hellas Verona vs Juventus Odds
Despite their impressive start against Napoli, Hellas Verona are as big as 4/1 to bag another three points, with Juventus 8/11 and the draw priced at 13/5.
Both sides were in good tune in front of goal last time and it is 10/11 for both teams to score, while the aforementioned Mosquera is 4/1 to find the net anytime.
Team News
Suat Serdar suffered a thigh injury last week and is set to miss out for Verona now, with 20-year-old Frenchman Reda Belahyane a likely deputy. Daniel Mosquera scored a brace off the bench against Napoli and the Colombian will be disappointed if he doesn’t get the nod to start now.
Timothy Weah was on the scoresheet for Juventus in their opening weekend win but is set to miss out here after picking up a knock. Holding midfielder Khephren Thuram started that game as well but is another doubt for Motta now.
Juve new boys Douglas Luiz, Michele Di Gregorio and Juan Cabal are likely starters, though Tiago Djalo, Filip Kostic, and Federico Chiesa appear to be bound for the exit door in Turin.
Juventus to win & under 2.5 total goals @ 5/2
Verona made a perfect start last week but it was something of a smash and grab in a game where they enjoyed just 32 percent of the possession. It also shouldn’t have come as a major shock, as Napoli have won only two of their last 13 games away from home in Serie A.
It certainly shouldn’t be taken as a sign of things to come, given Verona scored only 38 times in 38 top-flight games last season. Juventus were easily the lowest-scorers in Italy’s top four last season, with 54, while they conceded just 31 Serie A goals – a resolve only bettered by champions Inter Milan. That relative lack of goals at either end meant Juve had a total of 14 league draws – with only Udinese involved in more stalemates.
Juventus are odds-on to win this game but take them to keep it tight and likely grind out a win, with an away and under 2.5 goals a much more tasty 5/2 chance.

Hellas Verona to receive the most booking points @ 5/4
Verona were 18th in Serie A’s fair play standings last season, an improvement after finishing bottom of the 20 clubs the previous season. Their overall booking count dropped from 103 to 84, but red cards doubled from three to six.
That caution tally was matched by Juve last season but, despite both enjoying 3-0 wins last weekend, Verona (4) doubled Juventus’ tally of bookings.
The visiting side should dominate possession here and Verona may get caught out trying to retrieve the ball. The hosts should earn more booking points.
