Attention turns to Scotland on Thursday evening with a seven-race card on offer at Hamilton Park.
There’s a good Class 3 0-90 handicap over five furlongs at 20:00 and that looks the highlight of the evening.
Hamilton Betting Tips
18:10 – Great Colaci @ SP
The evening’s action gets underway with an amateur jockeys’ handicap over one-mile-and-five-furlongs and it can go the way of veteran GREAT COLACI.
The ten-year-old has won ten of his 74 career starts, in what is a pretty prolific profile, and the winning may not be done yet.
Gillian Boanas’ charge scored off a mark of 64 under talented rider Becky Smith at Haydock in 2021 and the son of Sulamani was then off the track for nearly two years following that victory.
However, Great Colaci has dropped to a mark of 56 here and a staying on third place over a furlong shorter than this this trip at this track seven days ago, suggests the ten-year-old can have one more day in the sun, with Smith again on board.
20:00 – Live In The Moment @ SP
LIVE IN THE MOMENT was slowly away and switched into the middle of the track at Windsor on Monday night and that’s far from ideal when racing at the Royal venue.
Alice Haynes’ runner still finished third, after being rushed up following that poor start, and it was a contest won by prolific hold-up performer Lequinto, with the progressive Antiphon in second.
This five furlong handicap is officially a step up in class from that Windsor contest, but there is no rival rated as high as Lequinto in this race and it’s worth remembering that the 87-rated Live In The Moment has achieved a mark as high as 101 in the past.
21:00 – Caribbean Sunset @ SP
The card closes with a big-field handicap over six furlongs at 21:00 and it can go the way of CARIBBEAN SUNSET.
Grant Tuer’s runner has just a debut maiden victory to his name, but the lightly raced five-year-old has run a series of credible races and today’s mark of 60 looks more than workable.
Caribbean Sunset stayed on well at Thirsk last time out, when losing a shoe, and that run can probably be upgraded further. The big field and likely strong pace should suit the five-year-old’s hold-up tactics and Caribbean Sunset can score under the setting sun.
