Making a Glow in the Dark Milk Jug Monster Luminary is a BLAST with your fam! If your children are anything like mine, they love all things glow-in-the-dark! This unexpected and spooky Halloween decoration could be for outside or inside, whatever you prefer. I think they’d look so cute on the front porch steps, especially!
How to Make a Glow in the Dark Milk Jug Monster Luminary
This project is so fun and easy, and you only need three supplies! (Plus water, of course!)
What supplies do I need for a Milk Jug Monster Lantern?
Whether you call it a lantern or a luminary, you’ll need the following:
- Clean Milk Jug – Or you can use a water jug.
- Glowsticks
- Black Paint Pen – You could also try black acrylic paint painted on with a paintbrush.
Instructions for a Milk Jug Jack-o-lantern Luminary
First, make sure the jug is clean. Next, paint the fun faces on! You could do jack-o-lanterns, monsters, ghosts, witches, Frankenstein, or even spell out B-O-O! Once the paint is completely dry, fill the jug with water, leaving an inch of space at the top. The water will help refract the light of the glowsticks to make the entire jug light up! After that, separate the glow sticks by color and crack the glowsticks right before night time when you’re ready to display your Halloween decor.
