Geekvape are back with the Geekvape Popvibe V5000 Vape Kit, which we will be looking at in today’s review!
One of the most well-known names in the vaping industry, Geekvape have diversified from cloud chasing sub ohm tanks into the pod game. Recently we have taken a look at a few of their latest releases such as the Wenax Q Mini, Wenax K2 pod kit and the Sonder Q!
What Can We Expect From The Geekvape Popvibe V5000 Vape Kit?
Geekvape have designed the Popvibe V5000 vape kit to be a greener, alternative option to disposable vapes. As you have the ability to recharge the battery and purchase new pods and e-liquid containers, you have got a reusable vaping kit!
You can get up to 5000 puffs from one of these kits, which claims to outlast eight standard disposable vapes. Once you’ve finished off the e-liquid you can simply slide in a fresh refill container and go again!
Pods are replaceable too and feature a built in 1.1ohm mesh coil that vapes with a fixed 14 watt output, giving you a mouth to lung vape.
There are 20 different flavours to pick from at launch, featuring fruit, soda, candy and ice flavours. The replaceable e-liquid container is pre-filled with 10ml of 20mg nicotine salt e-liquid which feeds into the 2ml replaceable pod.
A handy LCD screen makes it easy to keep track of battery life and when the built in 650mAh battery is running out you can charge it back up by using a USB-C charging cable.
Many thanks to Vape Club for sending the full Geekvape Popvibe V5000 range in for review, let’s see how it stacks up! As always, all views are my own…

Design & Build Quality
This is quite a small, box-styled device and it measures 93mm x 40mm x 20mm. It has a weight of 62g once the kit has been fully assembled, making it roughly palm sized. The kit itself comprises three parts – the device, e-liquid refill container and the pod.
There’s a range of 20 different colours available, which all correlate to the different flavours that are on offer. I will cover all of these later on in the review!
On the front of the device is an LCD screen which allows you to check the current battery level at a glance and underneath this is the USB-C charging port. A fixed airflow hole is also present on the side of the device.
Overall, the build quality feels a bit cheap and plasticky and I did have issues with sliding parts of the kit together as it was a bit stiff.
The sticky residue left over from the stickers wasn’t the nicest either and needed to be cleaned off before use.
Quick Start Guide
Before getting started with your Geekvape Popvibe V5000, you need to put the kit together.
- Firstly, you need to remove the kit from the packaging and remove the stickers too, there’s a handy instruction sticker present to guide you through the process.
You’ll likely have to give it a clean too after removing the stickers as I was left with a lot of sticky residue after removing them!
- Pull out the silicon plugs on the kit and remove the one present in the mouthpiece of the pod.
- Remove the childproof lid from the refill container but do not remove the rubber stopper under the lid!
- After this, click the refill container into the base of the pod and assemble the kit by lining up the pod and container with the sliding track on the device and sliding the device up.
Before vaping, invert the Popvibe V5000 for ten seconds to saturate the pod with e-liquid, then you can take a puff simply by drawing on the device.
There’s an LCD screen that displays the current battery level and to recharge the device you plug in a USB-C cable into the charging port located underneath the screen. There isn’t a cable supplied in the box however!
How Does The Geekvape Popvibe V5000 Perform?
You’ve got a wide range to pick from with over 20 different flavours available!
These cover fruit, soda, candy and ice flavours but there aren’t any tobacco or desserts to pick from.
Vape Club generously sent all 20 flavours over for review so my thoughts on them are below!
I’m pleased to see that Geekvape will also be selling refill containers separately for the Popvibe V5000 kit, meaning that you will be able to re-use it rather than throwing it away once you’ve finished the included refill container.
These should be available for purchase by the end of August 2024.
Strawberry Kiwi
They say
Combines the sweet taste of strawberry with tangy notes of kiwi.
We say
If you like a sweet strawberry and kiwi blend, then this one will hit the right notes for you.
There are notes of strawberry and kiwi right from the inhale and I pick up on both flavours from the outset rather than one being stronger than the other. They both seem to be present in equal measure!
These two do taste more like candied versions of the fruits rather than authentic tasting ones and there is quite a lot of sweetener present in the blend.
Blue Raspberry Cherry
They say
Delivers a sharp fruit medley featuring dark cherry and tart blue raspberry.
We say
Yep, like the description says, this one is definitely a ‘sharp’ tasting medley of fruits!
The sharpness for me comes from the level of flavouring concentrate used, because there is a lot of it and it makes the blend of blue raspberry and cherry taste a bit sharp and artificial.
I feel like Geekvape have tried to take the edge off of that a bit by adding a lot of sweetener to the blend.
It’s a touch too over-flavoured and over-sweetened for my tastes, but that is to be expected of disposable vape styled blends as they all seem to maximise flavour concentrate levels and sweetener!
Gummy Bear
They say
Features the distinct flavour of sweet mixed fruit candy.
We say
I’m not the greatest fan of “Gummy Bear” style blends as there’s usually too much flavour going on all at once. Plus often there is too much sweetener used in the mix, meaning that it just turns into sweetness overload for me!
This isn’t too bad however, the mix seems to be turned down a little allowing me to pick up on notes of mixed berries and citrus, underpinned with a sweet edge to it.
Still not something that I would vape all day but if you enjoy Gummy Bear flavours then this is a decent one to pick!
Fizzy Cherry
They say
Recreates the taste of cherryade, with sweet and sparkling notes throughout.
We say
I’m impressed, this does actually taste like Cherryade! I actually went down to my local newsagents and bought a bottle after trying this one out, just to compare it! Yes Geekvape have done a good job of replicating the taste.
So don’t expect authentic cherry flavouring, this is a candy soda-styled cherry vape. There is just a hint of fizz present and a very subtle cooling note, giving the mouthfeel of a chilled Cherryade straight out of the fridge.
Great job with this one!
Triple Mango
They say
A bold tropical blend that delivers the juicy, exotic flavour of mango.
We say
Triple Mango seems to be all the rage recently and Geekvape are the latest ones to try their hand at it!
I’ve always felt that ‘Triple Mango’ was just a stronger, more full on flavoured mango and that is exactly what you get here.
Plenty of mango flavouring is present, featuring juicy and sweet notes. It tastes like a mango juice to me. Just needs a strong kick of menthol to finish it all off!
Strawberry Ice
They say
Combines the familiar, sweet taste of strawberry with a crisp ice exhale.
We say
This was a bit of a flat, candied strawberry flavour that tasted a bit like a strawberry chew sweet to me.
That strawberry chew sweet flavour is quickly followed up with a fairly strong cooling kick that I found to be pretty refreshing. It leaves me with a nice and sweet chilled feeling on my tongue.
The strawberry does get a little lost in all the sweetener too, as there seems to be plenty of that packed into this blend!
Mr Blue
They say
Blends the juicy taste of a mixed berry medley with a cool layer of ice.
We say
Unfortunately this one was pretty much dead on arrival right out of the box.
It appeared that something might have been up when I was putting the kit together, as the LCD screen seemed to flicker on and off twice in quick succession.
I managed to get a very short puff out of the device before it cut off and seemed to die off completely. Then I disassembled it, cleaned the contacts, put it all back together but nothing would happen when I took a puff on it. I even popped it on charge to see if that would help but nothing happened when I did that either I am afraid, so I think I got a duff one!
From the single puff I got I managed to get a fleeting taste of some mixed berries but obviously I need a bit more from it to review it properly!
Blueberry Ice
They say
Fuses the sweet, slightly sharp flavour of blueberry with a frosty ice finish.
We say
I’m quite partial to a blueberry flavour, and this one does the job, but doesn’t offer anything really that makes it stand out from the rest of them.
There’s a sweet and thick blueberry Jam style of flavour coming through this that I just felt was a touch on the subtle side. If anything the blueberry flavouring could have done with being just a touch stronger.
It does get a bit overwhelmed with all the sweetener and the cooling sensation that is present, which is a little stronger than I expected it to be and leaves me with a nice chill in my mouth!
Blueberry Cherry Cranberry
They say
Takes the bold flavours of cherry and cranberry and sweetens them with notes of blueberry.
We say
I like a good blend of Blueberry, Cherry and Cranberry so I was looking forward to diving into this one!
And happily, I can say that it definitely delivers. I find with some other similar blends that the cranberry note tends to be more of an undertone, but that isn’t the case here.
Cranberry is actually one of the first flavour notes that I pick up on. It is delightfully tart and sharp, blending in with the sweet blueberry flavouring.
After this I get the cherry at the end that rounds this blend off nicely. Tasty stuff!
Menthol
They say
A simple blend that delivers intense cool and sweet notes throughout.
We say
This is more of a subtle menthol flavour rather than an in your face brain chilling one!
There’s a subtle and crisp note of mint at the start, that actually tastes a bit like authentic mint, before a chill comes in and washes over my palate.
I’d like it to be a little stronger overall but for most people this menthol flavour will do the trick and provide a refreshing vape!
Pink Lemonade
They say
Combines the classic taste of zesty Lemonade with notes of sweet mixed Red berries.
We say
At the start of this I get notes of raspberry, but not too much else in terms of mixed Red berries.
After the raspberry note I get a very nice Lemonade flavour that tastes a bit like freshly squeezed homemade Lemonade sprinkled with a lot of sugar. No hint of fizz here though to speak of!
A solid if not unspectacular pink Lemonade vape!
Pineapple Ice
They say
Fuses the exotic, sweet flavour of juicy pineapple with a cool ice finish.
We say
No self-respecting range of disposable styled flavours is complete without a Pineapple Ice flavour!
And it’s popular for a reason, because it provides an exotic and refreshing vaping experience.
Geekvape’s effort here with the Popvibe V5000 version definitely hits the spot when it comes to a refreshing vaping experience. I get an authentic tasting pineapple flavouring balanced out with a decent cooling sensation to finish. Just like a cold glass of pineapple juice!
I much prefer the authentic tasting versions over the ones that taste like a pineapple sweet, so this one gets the thumbs up from me!
Lemon Lime
They say
A sweet-yet-sharp citrus blend that combines tangy lemon and juicy lime notes.
We say
I get a blend of what tastes like freshly squeezed lemon juice mixed with the lime from the filling of a Key Lime Pie, which I find to be a really enjoyable blend! And both flavours are well balanced in the mix too.
It’s a bit of a different combo to what I expected from this at first and makes a refreshing change from the lemon lime Freeze Pop or soda styled flavours that I have become accustomed to!
Strawberry Watermelon Bubble Gum
They say
Delivers juicy watermelon and fruity strawberry notes sweetened by the sugary taste of bubblegum.
We say
Nope, not a fan of this one at all. The description didn’t appeal to me when I first read it and the taste of this didn’t do anything to change my mind!
I pick up on a lot of sweetener present here, like there’s a wave of it cascading over my palate when I take an inhale. Then there’s artificial tasting watermelon, strawberry and bubblegum present that left me with a nasty, chemical-like aftertaste.
It’s too sweet and too artificial tasting for my palate.
Watermelon Ice
They say
Takes the sweet and exotic taste of watermelon and chills it with a cool ice finish.
We say
This is a straight up watermelon ice flavour that tastes near identical to the multitude of others that are present on the market.
As expected, I get the candied watermelon flavour on the inhale that thankfully doesn’t taste too strong. There’s quite a fair amount of sweetener present in the blend that kind of overtakes the watery notes from the watermelon.
To finish, I get a bit of an icy chill that has a slight nip at the back of my throat.
Banana Ice
They say
Layers the creamy, sweet flavour of banana with a frosty ice exhale.
We say
Alongside a watermelon ice, banana ice is one of the flavours that I am least enthusiastic about trying out! It just really isn’t my thing.
I was hoping for more of an authentic banana flavour but as usual, I’m hit with the taste of Banana Foam Sweet to start off and a strong note of sweetener.
There’s no real creamy note from the banana to speak of. Great if you are a fan of Banana Foam Sweet flavouring!
After that I get the chilled note at the end, which is actually quite pleasant and not overly strong.
Strawberry Raspberry Cherry Ice
They say
Delivers a balanced berry blend, cooled with an arctic ice note on exhale.
We say
This one was one of my favourites from the Geekvape Popvibe V5000 range!
I get a good balance of the strawberry, raspberry and cherry notes. The strawberry and raspberry are the stronger notes as expected and the cherry holds the blend together. I get sweetness from the strawberry, sour notes from the raspberry and a rich and bold note from the cherry.
Definitely one that I could happily vape away on all day, Geekvape have done a great job of mixing this one!
Rainbow
They say
Provides the sweet, sugary and familiar flavour of fruit candy.
We say
‘Taste the Rainbow’…well I’m not quite sure that you do here!
Not in a bad way, this isn’t a bad tasting vape by any means, it’s just that I couldn’t really taste much other than citrus and a lot of sweetener!
I was trying to pick up on the other notes that should be there in a Skittles styled vape, but try as I might I could only get a sweet orange citrus taste from this one.
As a sweet orange citrus vape it isn’t all that bad though!
Blueberry Sour Raspberry
They say
Combines the juicy and sweet taste of blueberry with the tangy flavour of blue raspberry.
We say
This one is a blue sour raspberry flavour that is more on the artificial and candied side, rather than a blend of authentic tasting flavourings.
The balance here is pretty good, with the blue raspberry and blueberry notes mixing quite well and providing a sweet and sour edge to them. But I couldn’t really shake off the slight chemical aftertaste after having a fair few puffs on this.
In moderation, it’s not a bad vape overall but was slightly let down by that chemical aftertaste when chain vaping it!
Cherry Ice
They say
Fuses the sweet, dark flavour of cherry with a punchy ice finish.
We say
I do like a nice cherry vape and this one hit the spot for me!
This one features a nice, smooth and sweet candied cherry flavour that has a pretty thick mouthfeel to it, I felt that it tasted a bit like a Glace cherry.
After the cherry I get a nice, subtle cooling sensation from the Koolada which rounds this one off very nicely indeed.
Device Performance
Geekvape Popvibe V5000 devices are set up to deliver a mouth to lung vape, with the airflow on the device being fixed.
Airflow is drawn in from the airflow hole on the side of the device. At the start I did find myself accidentally covering this up when holding the kit and taking a puff on it which was a bit annoying.
It does deliver quite a tight mouth to lung vape. There’s a fairly smooth draw present which is good for long draws on the device. It fires pretty much instantaneously when you take a draw too, with no delay that I could pick up on.
The internal battery is a rechargeable 650mAh one, which will just about get the average user through a whole day’s worth of vaping. If you vape quite heavily (like I do), then this will be reduced.
Thankfully the battery can be recharged though it isn’t the quickest device at charging!
Puff Count
I do take most manufacturers claims of how many puffs you get with a pinch of salt, and here Geekvape claim that you can get up to 5000 puffs from a Popvibe V5000. As always, I am happy to put those claims to the test!
The amount of puffs you get will depend on how long you take a puff on the device, and how deeply you draw on it for.
I like to take long and slow inhales which will knock the puff count down considerably!
I counted 2,754 puffs from the Rainbow one before it gave up the ghost and died out. In real terms, this meant that I got about a week out of one of these kits, used alongside some of my other devices.
Pros
- Lots of different flavours to choose from
- LCD screen with battery life indicator
- Reusable system
- Good option for beginners
- Small form factor
Cons
- Sticky residue left on the device from the stickers
- Build quality feels cheap
- No dessert or tobacco flavours
- Might be a bit finicky for some to set up
- Can accidentally cover up the airflow hole when holding the device
Final Verdict
Geekvape’s first foray into the prefilled big puff pod kit market is a pretty decent one, with a pretty solid range of twenty different flavours to pick from and a lot of puffs for your money!
The initial set up of one of these might be a little finicky for some, especially when having to click all the different parts together. But once you have that out of the way you’ve got yourself a pretty decent small form factor performer that should get you through around a weeks’ worth of vaping.
Value for money wise, these offer the equivalent of eight regular disposable vapes. Plus you have the ability to reuse the device once the refill containers and pods become available shortly.
So if you still use disposables you can’t really go wrong by switching to one of these!
